I've had a look through the forums and could't see this anywhere else. Anyway... PDAce03a.jpg

I've just pre-ordered him. Now to find a menagerie in 1/6 scale!

I like it, but I'm not familiar with this company's quality.

Hot Toys is obviously the current industry leader but Asmus is definitely catching up to them! I would put them right behind Hot Toys for over-all quality as far as 1/6 scale companies go.
I would put a lot of the figures in The Lord of the Rings line ahead of many of the Hot Toys figures in my collection.
Their consistent outreach to collectors and eagerness to seek out and then act upon feedback from collectors makes them the number one 1/6 scale company in my book.

Somebody at Asmus must really like Jim Carrey, as they keep returning to him.

As a company, I'd agree with jal76, they've come a long way. I really like their Hateful Eight duo; the X23s are pretty good once the hair's been cut; the Mask is very eye-catching; and the Revenant Hugh Glass they released as Xensation is one of those figures that feels like it punches above its weight. Their Dredd got put in the shade by VTS though.

I understand their best work is on The Lord of the Rings, but I've never collected those.

They're certainly a company worth watching.

That good, huh?

I'll have to search some reviews on Youtube to see their work.

They?ve steadily improved over the years. Their earlier LOTR figs were so-so which is why I didn?t jump onto their LOTR series straight away. Its a shame cause I?ve missed a couple of very nice figures more recently. But they seem to be revisiting some of the main characters like the Helms Deep Aragorn. If the reveal looks good, I?ll pick it up.

Might have to source a 1/6 tutu for this one though[emoji3]

Since I have been buying Asmus figures, which is recently, the consensus has been that their production figures have surpassed their prototypes too. This is a welcome difference from Hot Toys too who typically move in the opposite direction.
With that said you should check out pictures of their upcoming Crown Series Gandalf.
The prototype is amazing and I would typically assume that they would not be able to deliver it in the final release.
However, as I mentioned their releases typically surpass the prototypes due to last minute upgrades and improvements.

I have the original one, and this is a definite improvement. Maybe not perfect, but I pre ordered. Still kick myself for passing on Mask figure.

Jim Carey must be Asmus’ Johnny Depp. Give me Dumb and Dumber and I’m in!

He seriously doesn’t come with any of those animals pictured at that price? That’s a big mistake.

It?s Asmus so I am certain that many of the rough edges will be tweaked and smoothed over before the final release.
Sadly I have no interest what-so-ever in the license but wish I did because I love to own Asmus products.

Agreed! This Ace figure is fun, but Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber would be instant pre-orders for me!
