Holy snot! A good looking toy at a realistic price! I didn't even know if it was possible anymore. Does anyone know which version of Aragorn they will be making? If it's the Black Gates version I'm all in.

Nice Darth Con, mate! I suppose Animarket is also gonna carry the rest of the figures from this line which is great; we already have a good Aussie distributor and their prices are really good. I didn't expect that they'll carry this line, tbh. I thought they only have Hot Toys and anime. And yes, I hope the AU$ exchange rate improves. It's started to rally against the greenback 2 days ago. I hope the trend continues.

Yep, just like what Darth Con said. With Animarket, you just need a pre-order deposit ($30 is about right though haven't received invoice yet from them), and the deposit will of course be deducted from the final price + shipping. Go for it, they're the best I'd say!

Asmus doesn't have the license for the US, so they can't sell direct to US customers. Sooooo, US stores have to import the figure, with higher shipping costs, so that's figured into the price.

What I believe has happened though is that Asmus set up Monkey on Fire to get around that licensing restriction, but Monkey on Fire still ships from overseas, sooooooo. . .

Wow, talk about blatant price-fixing.

Toywiz are crooks. Tried to order from them 3 times for stuff they had listed on their site as in-stock. Never received anything. Never responded to e-mails asking about my order status either.

Problems with ToyWiz go back a decade to when ToyFare had the World of Springfield exclusive figures. The mag would "run out of stock" to fill people's orders for the $20 exclusive figure, then ToyWiz would sell the exclusive at an insane mark-up like $200. The catch being that ToyWiz and ToyFare are both part of the Wizard Magazine brand run by the Shamus brothers. So it was pretty obvious that they were running a scam. The problem being that Playmates kept making exclusives for them and eh, well, it's all over with now. Surprising to see they're still around.

Yeah you pay a deposit plus postage now and the rest when they are about to get them.

I ordered mine for 154.99 plus shipping at toywiz yesterday (before they jacked the price up to 169.99) and this morning I have an email saying there is a "problem with my order" and to call their customer service to resolve it. I double checked all my ordering info and it is correct.

I think they are calling to tell me that they need to adjust the item cost up to 169.99. Should I call them or ignore them? If they press the matter, I'll just cancel and reorder it via BBTS.

What do you all think?
