Every once in a while a day comes that makes me consider completely restructuring my collecting priorities. Yesterday was one of those days. So many great 1/6 scale figures, but with these coming and a PF Indy in the works, do I care? I don't know. Tough decisions indeed....

Don't do it man. It's a trap that will leave you penniless. :(

Having said that, I have all of the Buffy PFs and all of the Star Wars PFs to date, and I love 'em to pieces. :love I'm skipping LOTR, but this Anakin will be absolutely incredible. Count on it.

If you plan on being a "completist" of any PF line, then it's not only going to be expensive but will require a BIG space for displaying them properly.

If you're going to be selective with the PF's, then it's definitely feasible.

Keep in mind that you would probably be able to purchase "4 or 5" of the 12in figures for every "1" PF.

PFs are very much the way to go! :rock I have all the SW PFs but Greivous, and they certainly make for a very imposing display (not to mention the Universal Monsters, Marvel and LOTR).

For display presence I don't think you can compare 1:6 to the PFs, though for practicality/useability the figures might have an edge.

I only have a hand full. I pick and choose which ones are a must and which ones I'll cry about years to come. :D

I only have...
Jason
Freddy
Darkness
Buffy 1

on order I have...
Bikerscout
Gandalf W

I will have..
Anakin
Aragon (maybe)

just a thought:

I've noticed that when Sideshow thinks the likeness of the sculpt is great, they show mostly the whole face as a preview, for example the Aragorn PF, but when the sculpt is so-so, they only show parts or none of the sculpt, for example the Hulk LB.

or is it just me ?

Well, Trevor did the Anakin PF and they don't show his face. We all know how great the sculpt will be.

Oh boy. That settles it, likeness will be superb. No doubt about it :chew

All the pressure is on you now Trev :D

Shh Toe, you're raining on my Pf Anakin parade. :lol

Khev, PF's are addictive, factor that in to your decision as well. I was only going to get a few of my favorites, but the ones I want keep expanding. However I do really like the PF's and if you have the will power to limit yourself to just a few of your favorites then I say go for it. And if you don't I say go for it anyways, you'll just find yourself rearranging your space alot. The bulk of my collection is PF's and I prefer them a dozen times over the 1/6 figures.

While I'm stoked over both the Creature and Aragorn PFs (Anakin is an easy pass for me, fortunately), it's just a little bit too much good news all at once! I've already decided to get the Gillman, I've just been waiting for that one for far too long, and it happens to be way too nice a figure to let slip away.

I got hooked on the LOTR PFs when I scored a Lurtz exclusive from the WL, and then added Frodo later. Fortunately, they haven't been rushing the LOTR line. That said, I've got Gandalf the White on the way, and there's no way I can't get this amazing edition of Aragorn now! Just looks too good to let go.

I'd made up my mind a couple of years ago that the PFs were outside my collecting budget, but since then I've collected around ten so far!!! I love every one of 'em... but my poor wallet! :monkey2 :monkey4

I like the PF's alot better then 1/6. PF's are much better quailty and the sculpts are alot better. I sold my 1/6 SW figures due to this reason. They were ok, but compared to PF its not even close. Can't wait for Anakin.

i was never a fan of the PFs but having recently got an obi-wan and vader for my sis, i think they're incredible. best statues out there. i just wish i had the cash for some more. the aragorn sculpt is insanely good. and i bet the anakin one will be too.

I love PF. When I first starting buying from Sideshow, I didn't care for the mixed media format all that much. But I broke down and bought Lurtz and he is an absolutely beautiful piece. Since then I've added four more PFs to the collection and I've got three more on pre-order, with more surely the come. I think Sideshow does a wonderful job capturing my favorite movie characters in a collectible that is high-quality and has a museum feel. They are expensive, so I pick and choose which ones I want, but for now, they are my favorite line to buy of anything that any company is producing at the moment.

Don't do it - PFs are a gateway collectible. I used to be an exclusively 1/6th collector. But when SSC debuted the 1/4 scale mixed media I knew I couldn't resist it. I loved the static PFs a lot and although I would have never considered statues before I started to reevaluate my interests. Now I have almost every DC statue released, Cinemaquettes, busts, and, of course, almost every PF ever done. And now other companies have seen what SSC can do with the format and have jumped on the bandwagon - GG and DC are releasing stuff I just have to have.

So stay away from PFs - it will lead to more and more wallet pain than you can imagine.

Oh crap, I was going to allow for the possibility that Anakin might not look that great. So much for that thought!

:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

I've only got the Frodo PF, but had been debating whether to sell him off and stick to 1/6 scale after Bespin Luke, Old Ben, and the upcoming Sidious and Hobbit figures. I'm thinking that the scales might be tipping back in favor of PF's.

I've been collecting mostly 1/6 scale since the end of the SSC/WETA lines, with some assorted mini-busts, comiquettes, statues, and legendary scale busts here and there, according to subject, but the PFs I have are probably the most impressive-looking complete figures in my entire collection. They just look so much better in person than anything else I have, except for the legendary scale busts. You can't help but notice those!!!

I can't afford to get as many PFs as I would like, and don't really have the space to display them anyway, but I am very happy with the ones I have at the moment. And if any more come along that are as impressive as Lurtz, Darkness, or Aragorn looks so far, I already know from experience that I'll be unable to resist owning them!
