Babydoll Statue price drop

Hi!

Some of them were sold for as much as $1000 a few weeks ago but now it is around $550 and one was sold recently for $499.

Why have the price dropped so fast? Is it because of the amount of Babydolls for sale? Was it because we lost interest? Too many things coming out so people decided to go for something else? Or was it because people were disappointed with GG for all the cancellations and delays and decided not to collect the whole line?

I heard many people say that it will not make sense not to collect the whole line and they don't want to go through the bull$#!& again.....

It is easy to find Babydoll for a good price, as well as Amber and I thought these things were going to be Grails from the start.....

What do you guys think?

I think most of the price being lower are the Japanese version. I think people want the statue intact then have the sheath laying on the base.

Alot bought them specifically to resale, and now the market is flooded. Once the others start coming out, maybe around the 3rd or 4th, the prices will go back up....


Also just in general I don't think many are buying, I have dropped prices on my auctions to below retail on long sold out items and still having hard time getting sales. Too much coming out I think is another big reason.

Expression is poor, and most probably thought along the same lines as you have - that these would be grails from the start - so the market is flooded like others have mentioned.

just like with most really wanted collectibles, the hype dies down, but I wouldn't even put this statue on the same level as the Talon pf in terms of awesomeness.

The cheaper ones are the Japanese versions. I cant recall, but I think there're 1000 of that stats. And from the regular ver. 500.

There were 500 of the Japanese ones and as mentioned above, most were bought for resale. Classic supply/demand here. The market is flooded with Japanese ones, the price goes down (though it's held high for the regular release). It'll go back up, even for the Japanese one, as supply runs out.

The Japanese version isn't all that different and it doubles the edition size. Most collectors don't need both just one or the other.
