Wow, that's amazing. I'm glad they used the actors faces for the characters though. Looks like it'll be the best performance from CGI actors.

The animation isn't what I was expecting at all. I was really looking forward to seeing this, but I'm not sure I want to sit through a 90 minute video game cut scene...no matter how good it looks.

I guess I had missed that it was going to be a fully CGI movie. So I'm a bit dissapointed by that, but at the IMAX it will be in 3D so that makes up for some of the sadness.

At the very least it has to be better than the SciFi channel's Grendel

The Polar Express animation was the 1.0 version of this facial capture/animation hybrid. Apparently, and judging by the trailer, they've fixed that dead doll eye look PE had. I enjoyed the look of the Final Fantasy movie (too bad the screenplay was bad) and forgot about it being animation about 15 minutes into it. And the benefits of this technique, such as 1 actor playing the same character from 17 to 70, will be interesting to watch. I totally trust Robert Zemeckis and Neil Gaiman . This one will !!

I'll definitely see this, but it does look too much like a video game clip scene. Apparently we're not at photorealistic CGI humans quite yet.

They've done them before, but just not in a film that's entirely CG.

Gollum and Yoda were amazing, but obviously they didn't spend as much time on each and every character in Beowulf.
