Apologies if this information has been posted already, but for those who have direct orders with Oniri for Zodd, he has finished production. He is now shipping to their facility in France and will then be shipped out to customers.

In regards to Guts & Zodd VS Ganishka, though some customers received this statue before Oniri went bankrupt, the production run wasn't completed. According to Oniri's comments on Facebook this statue should be available again next week.

For those unfamiliar with Oniri, it is a statue company that went out of business a couple of years ago, but was taken over by Raphael Maunier last year. He has been working to regain licenses for their pending statues and managed to put Zodd, Evangelion and City Hunter back into production.

Here is a video showcasing the production version of Zodd:

i want to preorder the Guts and Zodd piece again, but I'm waiting to see if they actually ship it and the QC is good before i pull the trigger. can't go through that heartbreak again.
I don't blame you. Customers seem pleased with the City Hunter statue and the remaining Femto statues that were recently delivered. They look to be the same quality as previous Oniri statues, so fingers crossed the rest of the Berserk ones will be on par. It's been so long since Zodd was announced that I don't even buy resin statues anymore, but I have placed an order for him because I did want him when he was first announced in 2020, but he sold out before I could get him.

I've always liked their berserk line up I just was never able to obtain them due to that reason . Hopefully I can snag them if that's the case..

What is it?

Looks like it's a repaint of one of the small-scale statues

"Brush Paint Tribe" is a popular serialized section of Monthly Hobby Japan that allows you to enjoy a variety of plastic models with brush paint. This time, Painter MA Man, the target of many modelers who have been longing for, who creates repainting figures and examples of painting beautiful girl plastic models featured in Monthly Hobby Japan.
She paints the new plastic model "PLAMATEA Guts Berserker Armor Ver."" released by Max Factory. This plastic model combines action and good design, and the molding color is also extremely heavy black, so you can feel satisfied just by assembling it.
This time, we will use this black molded color to try painting monochrome illustrations using just two Citadel colors and a matte spray. Enjoy the world created by the numerous lines drawn by MA Man."

Would be lens distortion making it look that way
I doubt it. It looks off in every image I've seen. That particular image might make it look even worse but I don't think it's entirely lens distortion. Unless every single image is only distorting the head and make to make them look over-sized.
