Best material for sculpting 1/6 head?

sculpy..... tools you can buy a basic set or customise your own.. really its any shape you find helpful pushing clay around, you'll need some rubbing alcohol & softener - old paint brushes too - plus hobby knives & gear for sanding & dremel comes in handing too
 
Personally, I use wax for 1/6.Learned how in the pattern shop,got used to it,and see no reason to change. aside from the fact that it's the industry standard, it's very forgiving and allows for amazingly crisp detail...PS
 
There is a book called pop sculpture.in it there is everything you need to know.it was written by a bunch of pros and they tell you exactly what they use and what steps to use.I used super sculpty for a rough cast then do all my finish work in wax.
