I've been an avid collector of military figures in 1/6 scale but have mostly dabbled in the 90s to modern military.

Lately I'm looking into the WW2 era figures and was wondering if folks here have any recommendations of which brands do WW2 figs as good as Damtoys / Soldier story.

I'm looking for a decent 101st airborne fig / allied army figure.

Thanks for all the advice you can offer

Well, you can't go wrong with DID.
Their WWII figures are usually up to, and some times above, Hot Toys standards. They use a lot of real materials, like wood and metal for guns, as well as leather for boots and gear. Their head sculpts are very good too.
You might want to check out the OneSixthWarriors forum, lots of military enthusiasts over there.

I agree with abake. DID has released some fantastic WWII figures.

OSW is a classic site for military figures. You'll find good information there.

I am so glad that I picked up DID's "Winters" figure (from Band of Brothers) several years ago. Excellent figure from an Excellent series.

DID are releasing 2.0 versions of their Enemy at the Gates figures, with improvements all around as far as I could tell.
That might be a good starting point for a WWII themed collection.
