I admit that I fully expected Chris Tucker to be the star when I saw the headline. Apparently Eddie Murphy is returning. Although I still won't see it. And if this goes well, I also won't see Ratner's "Yet Another 48 Hours."

Why is this news upsetting people?

Granted, it's weird that they're going back to the series, but I love Axel Foley, I'm interested in the possibility of more adventures, be great if Judge Reinhold were in it again too, Rosewood's a great counterpart as the anti-Axel hehe.

I wonder what role Jackie Chan will play....should be interesting to see Axel team up with Chris Tucker.

Do you understand the words coming out of my mouth!

(Insert Eddie laugh here)

The only thing I worry about is Ratner at the helm. I hope that Eddie has grown since BHC3 and doesn't want it as silly as that film was. If it is more along the lines of the first film, with Judge and other series regulars along for the ride, it might be good.

But Ratner will have to be on his game, he's really hit or miss with his movies.

If all the actors come back and it's a good story (no more Wallyworld or what is was called:monkey4) and it's full of explicit dialog like the first two, i would be up for it. Just about anything can be better then the third one:emperor

Maybe Murphy will be playing all the characters this time around. He seems to do that with all his movies now.

Another sequel? Beverly Hills Cop 3, a Highlander remake, Plan 9 from outer space remake, spider man# 4&5, Batman# 6, James Bond# 2078. My God does Hollywood have no more ideas? It's all sequels and remakes...most of the time bad ones! Give us something original.

Well....various studios bought the rights to Chutes and Ladders, Candyland and Monopoly....there are some interesting new ideas for you. :lol

Remakes are ok if there's a significant enough reason to explore a remake like Kong 1933 and Kong 2005, lots of changes in filmmaking, nice to see a take on the subject using modern tools, doesn't devalue the original. Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween (which I saw and did enjoy) are unnecessary, there's nothing about them that makes them outdated where you could really make a different spin on it, just a different storytelling but in essence the same visuals.

Sequels I'm all for when there actually is a story to be done that really adds to the series. Rocky Balboa and RAMBO were both great additions to their respective series and worth being made. Beverly Hills Cop IV definitely is a lack of ideas movie. I like Axel Foley and the BH movies, but there's no "need" for another story with him.

I hear you! There are some original ones here and there, Sex and The city comes to mind:monkey3

Ratner is a hack of the highest order. Perhaps the only Hollywood director I despise more than him is Steven Sommers(The Mummy Returns, Van Helsing, etc.). Eddie hasn't been funny in over a decade and Beverly Hills Cop 3 was a disgrace to the franchise. This film has DISASTER written all over it.

I think it all depends on whether or not Judge Reinhold can get enough time off from his job at Taco Bell to actually shoot the film.

actually i was at the taco bell where he was working. i told him i wasnt 100% satisfied with my burrito and he told me he was gonna kick 100% of my ass.

why do they have to keep making sequels so many years after these films lost their popularity?:dunno
