Why are there no customs of Axel at all? The first two movies are pure 80's gold.

Why in the world they gave it a sickle and hammer instead of just making it the Detriot Lions jacket is beyond me.

Anyway I am still getting it and going to try and modify it.

Who else would like to see this become a project on here, maybe I could find someone to sculpt up Eddie for us.

Great movie, no doubt, but I'm not sure folks think of Murphy as an action star, despite him having some action scenes in 48 Hours, BHC, etc. When talking about movies, folks generally want figures of action heroes, or monsters/aliens. That's probably why there haven't been many customs. Some Minimates were planned, but even those didn't generate enough interest to actually get them produced.

I would love an Axel Foley figure, you know what i need to buy these dvds ha ha i really want to watch them again

Eddie isn't the biggest action star no, but this is a year we've seen Andy from Shawshank Redemption, Chevy Chase, Michael Corleone from G3, etc. so it's far from an odd want.

For me it's one of the first defining 80's films that pop into my head with Top Gun, Ferris Bueller, Back to the Future, Breakfast Club, and Ghostbusters.

Of course, you are gonna see wacky figures like that from time to time, but they are pretty rare. Not that I'm against him being made. I would love to get a Hot Toys quality version because I love the movie. But I don't know that it would appeal to the typical collector.

Also, we do see iconic actors from non-action movies like James Dean and Brando, but Murphy doesn't have that status.

I don't see much Eddie in that, and the guy selling them is a recaster who was banned from this site. So it's not a 1st gen casting and likely lost some detail.

I'd also like to see him smiling or lauging.

Josh (Mr. Fusion) and I have had an Axel for several years. He is ever changing, but here he is more or less now.

That looks awesome, the head could be better, but the outfit is great.

Maybe if enough interest is shown Plastic Earth would consider releasing this head in 1/6th scale. This sculpt was done in Mego scale, 1/8th.

Jeez I can't catch a break here. Was in the hospital all last night again. Just got home, been up for 32 hours. Thank god for hot nurses to flirt with.

Anyway I got an email back from another of our talented sculptors saying he'd think about it, so lets try and show in this thread enough of us are interested to help persuade him.

I would totally be down for a Plastic Earth head. Deckard is right about the sculpt on mine and Ben's figure. It's definitely lacking in the likeness department.

Yep thats pretty odd.

I think the more I look at that other Eddie sculpt, the more it actually looks like his Captain from Detroit then it does Axel.
