*BEWARE SPOILERS* Deadpool & Wolverine (July 26th, 2024)

I thought it was pretty funny that if it's xavier's sister then of course, she must also be bald.

By the way, she allows Wolvie and Deadpool to escape to Wade's reality to potentially save it, then decides to follow and destroy it. Story not the strong suit of this film.

Yeah the plot was beyond stupid. Doesn't matter. Just an excuse to get Wolvie and Deadpool in the same place.

(And most of it was "The Void".....how convenient to have 75% of a movie not need backgrounds or sets. Not unlike the final hour of Endgame taking place on a parking lot in space.)

Felt like the shooting script was written on a cocktail napkin during a bender the night before cameras started rolling.

this movie could have worked if it had a strong great villain with a good plot.
I don't know who,
but someone with a stronger purpose. someone with an actual evil plan. someone that could put stuff in danger.
a villain that needed to escape the void to do harm. ( not just to destroy all universes but but an actual plan)
ironically Loki before his show would have been good.
someone diabolical, a villain that needed to escape the void that maybe had a real grudge against others. someone from the past.

casandra fills some of these points. but it should be someone that actually mattered. and someone that has a real grudge. it needed to be someone wronged.

Scarlett witch is actually the perfect villain for this. ironically. same reality bending powers. she actually had a grudge against everyone.

she could be thrown to the void because of doctor strange 2.

she was generic, had a "cliche bad guy"attitude. no real goal. evil for sake of evil. no real plot with her. no real anything.
just a generic cliche villain.


I guess this movie is the equivalent of meet the Spartans or something like that. this is like DATE movie or the movie Vampires suck . just a parody marvel movie. the same down to the cameos ( those movies are full of cameos)
it's basically the same

turn off your brain, just laugh at the jokes. don't pay attention to the plot, don't expect a good story. don't worry about anything. just watch and laugh

is not a movie with any real plot, any real dangers or stakes. no real tension.
it's like expecting a good plot from Meet the Spartans. that wasn't the intention

I can kind of agree in the lack of a famous villain, but again, this movie is not about epic storytelling, it is action and laughs.

I’m surprised at the level of negativity towards the cameos. I thought the cameo selection was on point to give nods to versions of characters that the filmmaking process has already moved away from. We got a great run of versions of characters who would otherwise absolutely not be part of whatever they do with MCU X-men. Do I really wish they slipped in James Marsden as AoA Cyclops for a quick optic blast? Yeah. But it seems like the ball is still in the air for all those core X-men actors to have better MCU involvement beyond another blink-and-you-miss-it moment.

I also always thought the Channing Tatum Gambit idea was idiotic because he has such a fat head that always looked terrible in the fan mock-ups. I feel this movie proved me right and shoved that version of Gambit in the only place it belongs.

Also, look at who’s sitting around together at the end of the film. Tell me that isn’t a setup for a more standard X-men-centric Deadpool 4 movie.

I'm not saying that this movie is exactly like meet the Spartans, not saying that meet the Spartans was good. . but some of the defending to this movie sounds like someone defending a parody spoof movie.
I mentioned random parody spoof movies just as example. but a lot of people are saying " the plot doesn't matter, the plot was not important.
you're just meant to laugh. "
so that means this movie is like a spoof parody like meet the Spartans.
sure meet the Spartans was bad. but just like with Deadpool here, the plot never mattered. meet the Spartans just happens to have bad jokes.
Deadpool and wolverine has good jokes. they are both parody movies where the plot is not important

I'm not comparing the humor in Deadpool to meet the Spartans, but I'm saying how in parody spoof movies,the plot never matters

I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about the villain when the other two Deadpool movies had for their villains Ajax and Firefist. Compared to those two, Cassandra Nova is ******* Thanos.

because .... Ryan has access to the entire fox and marvel catalog to bring back any villain. he has the access now.

the multiverse gives him access to all dead villains. he can literally get anyone at all. Ultron could have been a henchman, red skull could have been in it, he could have had the bad guy from back panther, anyone.

and he picked a really bad one. and Cassandra was useful for her mind powers, but, the rest of the bad guys in the void were kind of lame.

I thought the movie was a blast, despite the fact there wasn't a whole lot of a plot to it. And unlike the previous movies Deadpool's obnoxiousness didn't wear thin on me halfway through.

Lots of fun cameos, especially Johnny Storm. Although strangely my favorite was Laura who didn't even have a costume, and I found myself getting unexpectedly emotional every time she and Logan were on screen together. And it just immediately made me want to go back and watch that masterpiece again.

A big name villain would have just added a little more engagement maybe to the plot, but in the end, they made the right choice. Using forgotten characters was part of the jokes in the movie. That Johnny Storm reveal was hilarious, was not expecting that bait ans switch.

maybe Deadpool should be a character in every single project from now on lol, even as a 5 minute cameo. we could have added Deadpool to she hulk with more jokes, and if it wasn't well received they can go " why were you expecting a good story? just laugh "
the marvels didn't need a better script. it just needed more jokes and Deadpool on it for a little bit.

maybe Ryan Reynolds will truly save marvel.
he should were all marvel projects.

which didn't even work. and it was all for nothing, because she followed them to use the machine, and all universes would have ended.
and they all died for nothing, because Deadpool can break the 4th wall, and he knew they were going to win. making everything pointless

I think your expectations are to high. Yes we want to see those characters but come on why do you want to see them in a Deadpool movie? Save that for xmen or avengers or something. Deadpool is meant to be mean spirited stupid fun. You’d have apocalypse in the movie and deadpool doing gangum style and then you’d be angry.
The movie was nothing but an introduction for things to come and a good bye to the fox verse.
Any xmen villian or fox villian would have been wasted. I think a lot of people fully expected an xmen film lol

That’s why I don’t get the “she wasn’t a threat” complaint. She was an omega level mutant who killed many big players in the marvel verse and couldn’t be killed if shot or stabbed.
