The latest from BCS is that the Third Dr is being delayed until early next year...


Dear customer,

So much has been said, and continues to be said, about this most challenging of years we find ourselves living through. Like so many here in the UK and abroad, we find ourselves once more locked down in a bid to keep ourselves and other safe. Life, however, must go on and so here at BIG Chief we continue to work within the government guidelines.

Of course we know that you all would like to know how the situation has, and is still, affecting our schedule, and ultimately when products will see release. We could elaborate and go on at length about reduced labour and working hours in China. The extended production lead times for key parts of the mass production process. Or the reduction in available shipping lanes and smaller vessels operating. Ultimately what you want to know is when can you expect the products that you have pre-ordered.

In short the majority of our products are subject to further delay due to the pandemic and as our vendors catch up with their busy schedule, that includes not only BCS products, but others too. Basically we are in a queue with a number of products already in process and other just starting.

We have the Thunderbirds figures on their way to us, with the Only Fools and Horses and Dad?s Army gift items due to be completed in December. Sadly the gift items will not make it to our shores in time for Christmas. Both the Thirteenth Doctor and the Third Doctor are also in production and are scheduled to be completed at the start of January, with the aim to ship these figures prior to Chinese New Year. The James Bond Dr. No and Flash Gordon figures are also well underway, with completion around April next year and our other items will follow on.

Please see the table below with our updated schedule as advised by our vendors. Given the ongoing situation we would stress that these dates are advised, but we are going to be doing our very best to deliver either as per this revised schedule, or ideally sooner.

I have to say something looks a tad 'off' with his likeness a those photos, but I'm still keeping him, because If all else I doubt we'll ever get another company making one.

The latest from BC is that these won't ship from the factory until mid March and will take six weeks to arrive in the UK...so we're looking at some time in May before these are shipped out to customers.

Going from the latest pics the production head sculpt looks excellent! Very close to proto...Can't wait

Really excited to get this one. The 3rd Doctor has always been pretty special to me.

Basically when I was really little; younger than 5, I used to occasionally see old 3rd Doctor reruns on tv. At the time I had no real clue what Doctor Who was and didn't become a real fan until after the new show came on.
Anyway, Pertwee was a dead ringer for my grandfather (the two of them could have been twin brothers), and I was convinced at the time that it was him out there fighting aliens and saving the earth, haha.

For those who might not have got the latest update...More delays but this is shipping before the end of the month(fingers crossed)

Dear Customer,

We are delighted to share some more production images of the soon to be shipped Third Doctor Sixth Scale Character Replica Figure.

We received these images this week, just ahead of a QC inspection prior to pack out.

Now we know that you have all been waiting patiently for these figures and we know that delays are frustrating, we really, really do. Unfortunately there have been a few issues that have resulted in production taking longer then we had hoped.

A number of the workers at our vendor?s factory did not return to work until mid March, some three weeks after the end of the Chinese New Year holiday. The Chinese government imposed a staggered return to work following the break, to avoid further spread of the second wave of the Covid 19 virus. With reduced staff the factory were not able to operate at full capacity and production slowed.

The BBC also requested some changes to the packaging for the figure, which meant that certain elements needed to be re-printed.

All of this aside the figures are looking superb and will soon be ready for final QC inspection. We anticipate that the figures will be shipped before the end of the month and will keep you posted.

In the meantime we hope you enjoy the images.

Can I ask a question? Why am I not getting these e-mails, even though I have him on pre-order? I was signed up once to them, but I got annoyed by the general e-mails advertising new figures that were available to buy, which I was not interested in, so one day I did unsubscribe.
But still I should get these no?

Also, when Captain Jack Harkness was announced, I looked at the page to see if I could sign up for the e-mails again (was worried I might miss the link when he goes live) but could not find it anywhere.

He looks very good. Still wish he had a less angry expression. The 13th Doctor shown in the same email is very impressive, it looks even better than the prototype.
