Bilbo (SSW) price increase? due to Hobbit?

Are you kidding me? check out this recent auction. Sideshow/WETA Bilbo got bid up to $655 (reserve still not met???). I wanted to get him one of these days; looks like with The Hobbit coming out, it won't be soon.

If Weta gets the license for the Hobbit I'd Imgaine that old stuff will rise. I can't see anyone else doing it. To me the SS/Weta line made SS and got the the attention of alot of new collectors.

When SS Weta was doing LOTR all I was collecting was toybiz LOTR figures. If they do do the Hobbit I will for sure buy. I think it is really cool how the original artists are doing the statues also. Don't get me wrong I really really love Sideshow's work, it is my all time favorite but if I had the Cash when weta was involved with LOTR I would have grabbed all of them up.

All I can say is that my SS/W collection is steadily climbing on ToyTracker, even if Orthanc -- the flagship piece -- has been on a decrease.

It's very good to know that the helms in particular are increasing in value.

And I don't own a Bilbo statue, but I do own a Bilbo bust, and it's perfect.
