Aside from it being Netflix, so I have no faith in it, my interest in Bioshock died a long time ago. Infinite was that bad. I only like the general Art Deco aesthetic at this point, and my darling Elizabeth.

Resident Evil was ordered by Netflix but the production company and creative team was the same as the movies.

Yeah but the difference is that this has actual talent behind it.

AFAIK Netflix was just the distributor for Resident Evil, it was developed and produced elsewhere.
