Just beat it today. Loved the fight with Atlas. Luckily beat him on my first try. It was an intense battle but nothing a few RPG's and Grenades couldn't handle. I beat the game with 725 out of 1000 acheivement points. I think that is pretty respectable the first time through. I failed to do many of the research picture things. There was also 1 taperecorder I just couldn't get too. It was under steps but I couldn't figure out how to get down there.

All and all what a freaking game. I couldn't stop playing. I kicked it into full gear Friday night and spent all day Saturday playing and a few hours this morning. I hear that there are two endings. I think I got the happy one. I saved all of the girls and it shows them graduating and getting married and stuff. I still haven't figured out how my character is Relating to fontaine and Ryan though. This is probably because I played drinking both Friday and Saturday nights. LOL! So what are your thoughts guys?

did you try the telekinesis to pull it to you?? i need to play through it again on hard to get most of the achievements. i need to get most of the research and save the little sister points.

Telekinesis worked on everything else under those stairs except the tape recording. There was nothing I could do to get to that one, and I suspect that it's the only one left standing between me and the achievement. I spent quite a lot of time trying to figure out how to get underneath those stairs and ultimately gave up.

I am with you Tom. That damn tape recorder is killing me. I am going back and have tried everything. I just can't get that one.

Still can't get the damn thing. You can go back through to everywhere on the map before the final fight. I still can't get it. It is driving me nuts!

What section of the game is this tape recorder in? I remember seeing something like this and there was a crawl space near by. Just crawled in and got it. Where can you tell how many tape recordings you have/need (I know you can replay them all but there isn't a counter saying you have 45/50 or anything) I need to check my points when I sign back on.

The Atlas fight was pretty damn easy for me. Not even one of the hardest bosses in the game.

I found it tonight. LOL! The damn thing was right by the steps. Tom just go to the right of the steps and crouch. I guess the brightness set up did not work to well for me because the crawl space looked black. My fight with atlas was pretty easy as well. Nothing a few rockets and grenades couldn't handle.

Sorry Loki! Back to your question. I think you just have to count them. Hit the back button. It is an option to listen to all of your recordings. I thought the one under the steps was my last. I was wrong.

Each time Atlas came down off the platform, I shot him three or four times with explosive buckshot from my shotgun and he went down. I didn't even break a sweat defeating him, and then I got to watch all of the girls swarm him with their syringes.

Hey guys, it took me a bit, but I did figure out the way to get that tape recorder. To the right of the stairs, to the right of the unusable console, there is a crawlspace that opens up. It blends into the wall quite well, so look close.
