Black Suit/Venom Concept Suits

Reason why they didn't go with it

im just reading the book here at work, and it says the reason the didnt choose that was cuz it was too sexy, something akin to a fetishist not a superhero. also, that was just a mock up and they have a more detailed black suit that is just like that but with a very subtle web pattern on it looks cool.

Damn that black spidey suit looks AWESOME!!!! I think their reason is a bit lame for not using that suit in the movie.....they could've made it work

I really like the first picture with the comic accurate spider over the chest with the glossier suit and no webbing.

Yes, I agree too. That costume would have been a much better choice.

Even in the first picture the comic spider would have been too small....I think that costume would have worked, it wouldn't have looked fetishy on film especially with the alien explanation of a symbiote....

I think those concepts could have worked well. I don't think that concept looks fetishy at all. The symbiote was a tight fitting suit.

I don't mind what they went with but I prefer the one pictured there, it looks more other worldly then the one they used which would've suited the Venom character more.

That suit looks really awesome, and since it would be comic book accurate it gets extra points, but I do like the new take on the suit. It gives it a nice seperate feel. On the other hand it doesn't translate as well to Venom. I can't wait to see the movie!

Looks like an S&M gimp outfit.

The design is just too simplistic for live-action. I loved it in the comics, but judging by these pics, I'm glad it stayed there.

I like what they did with it in the movie, those concepts are cool, but certain things work from drawing to real life, some don't. I always love the movie design of the regular costume, and the black really is novel in it's simple idea of, just turn the existing one black. The original has texture, so just turning it black does so much. And Venom too, the concept is more true, but loses something in reality vs. the drawing. I really like what they did with both in the movie, they're different from the comics, but not a huge leap, and the idea and feel still rings true. It is cool to see the concepts though, and they're totally gimp lol.

I like the concepts but I don't mind what ended up in the movie...but it the end it looks almost like they spent too much time developing this idea and then just ended up doing something simple to make up for delays or something.

I would've liked it have seen the full black suit with the white spider emblem with the black webbing on it as well (basically like the movie Venom WITHOUT the broken up webbing...the teeth...the tongue...the drool,etc.).


Speaking of concepts,does anyone know where the Alex Ross suit concepts are for the first movie?

Very alien looking, though. I liked the photoshop job someone did when the poster first showed up.

I like how Venom turned out, like a demtented version of the Spider-Man suit.

I think I'll reserve judgement on ths suits until I see the film on Sunday evening. I've alsways liked the comic book version of the symbiote suit.....want to see if I like the movie version too....especially on Venom.
