I am not planning on re-buying most of my dvds.

I will probably make and exception for bond.

will also make and exception for Indy, LOTR, Star Wars, Titanic, and Top Secret.

kinda pisses me off because i spent loads of cash on the DVD box sets that were released last year. I'm probably not going to upgrade (especially for the crappier bond films)

im just keeping the dvd's from last year. they turned out perfect IMO and the special features were top notch. plus i got them for a steal of $19 a piece.:google

I don't have a Blu-Ray player, but it almost makes it pointless to get any DVD sets anymore, always coming out with something different. I still have the first Bond collection they came out with, and I'm happy with that for now. Good news for those with Blu-Ray though.

I'm not upgrading to Blu-ray, I thinks its way too hyped. I have some blu-ray movies and the quality isn't good enough for me to spend top dollar for a more clearer picture. The movie quality isn't going to change the movie experience that much. Regular DVD is just fine.

From highdefdigest.com:

MGM has unveiled a first look at the box art for the first six titles in its upcoming James Bond Blu-ray collection.

As previously reported, MGM made 007 fans really happy last month when it announced it was bringing its first wave of classic James Bond titles to Blu-ray on October 21 (day-and-date with new standard DVD re-issues).

Spanning all four decades of Bond, the six titles include 'Dr. No,' 'From Russia with Love,' 'Thunderball,' 'Live and Let Die,' 'For Your Eyes Only' and 'Die Another Day.'

MGM will also package the six titles in a pair of three-pack bundles, with the 'James Bond Blu-ray Collection Three-Pack: Volume 1' featuring 'From Russia with Love,' 'Thunderball' and 'For Your Eyes Only,' and the 'James Bond Blu-ray Collection Three-Pack: Volume 2' with 'Dr. No,' 'Live and Let Die' and 'Die Another Day.'

Although MGM still has not released any tech specs or supplement details as of yet, they have issued a teaser of what's to come with full-res box art images for the six stand-alone Bond titles:

For such a cool franchise, MGM has yet to do any decent artwork for Bond releases.

And now they tell us that on the same day, Casino Royale is going to be rereleased on Blu-ray as a two disc collector's edition set:

The two-disc set will sport tech specs similar to the previous edition, with the film presented in 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and uncompressed PCM 5.1 Surround audio, and new to the special edition, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround option.

Extras are extensive, with the set including a pair of cast & crew audio commentaries (participants TBA), a suite of documentaries ("Becoming Bond," "James Bond: For Real," "Bond Girls are Forever"), an additional pair of featurettes ("The Road to Casino Royale," "Ian Fleming: The Secret Road to Paradise"), six deleted scenes, two storyboard presentations, filmmaker profiles, and the Chris Cornell music video for "You Know My Name."

The Blu-ray release will also feature an e-Movie Cash ticket for the upcoming 22nd James Bond adventure, 'Quantum of Solace.'

Bonus features from the two disc special editions will be carried over to the Blu-ray releases:

I've been douple dipping the bond movies a little too often to start buying the BR versions now. I got Casino on BR and will get Quantum, but the rest I'll stick with my DVDs for now.

Little thread bump here, as the titles for wave two in March have been revealed:

- Diamonds Are Forever
- Goldeneye
- Goldfinger
- Licence to Kill
- The Spy Who Loved Me
- The World is Not Enough

I have been enjoying the first wave and I will definitely pick these up as well--even Diamonds, which is my second to least favorite. Very happy to see Goldeneye and Goldfinger coming!

I loved it when Amazon released this Vol1 and 2 for $65 which I couldnt resist. I used the 2 free QoS movie tix, and sold the other 2 free QoS movie tix to a friend of mine. So, in essence, I felt like I bought these 2 BR volumes for $30, making each Bond BR movie for $5 each.
