Boromir exclusives

Haven't seen this posted yet. Tomart's has a full picture of the boromir in the new issue--sorry I don't have it, otherwise I would have scanned it. He comes with horn, sword, scabbard, and shield. The exclusives for this figure are the elven cloak and a severed moria orc head. I don't know if his other cloak is included or not.

we don't have to guess what the exclusive items are now. funny how sideshow leaks that out before pre-order even starts. this magazine seems to get inside info before all of us do. even pics!

Mmmh... this is somewhat strange news.

The e-mail that announced the pre-order time of the figure did not tell anything about an exclusive version and if my memory serves me the last two e-mails for Aragorn and Legolas specifically announced the pre-order of the XY 12-inch Figure - Sideshow Exclusive, but the e-mail on Boromir just announces the Boromir, Son of Denethor 12-inch figure.

Or is my memory playing tricks on me

That's the way it works. You know, that's what magazines do, they bring us the news. In order to do so, someone has to give 'em the information ahead of time, because the article must be written, then a nice layout must be found (with pictures), the magazine must be printed. And after that, it must reach the bookstore in time so people can buy the magazine. Makes a lot of sense to me to have an article about Boromir in a magazine BEFORE the PPO starts. That's publicity!

Yeah. Rebelscum has sometimes had info before its come out in the newsletter too - well in relation to the star wars line anyways.

Any info. that comes out beforehand is well-known and accepted by SS. If they wanted to keep it wrapped up, all they would do is put an embargo on it.

Yes, that's what I mend. I assume it's the SSC's press department that gives the info to the interested media. So, nothing fishy going on there, just common practice.

Not digging much on the decapitated head at the moment. If it's a head where Boromir can hold the hair by or something it probably ain't that bad. Or else it would just be some accessory that lies on the shelf...

Would have to see it later tomorrow how it is like. Since nobody managed to get hold of the pics in the mag.

First thing I asked myself when I read about this severed head as the exclusive item, was "does Boromir decapitate a Moria Orc in that movie? Or in the book?" I don't remember. Personally I don't dig those severed heads to much, but I'm not against them neither. I know there's a lot of people here that really go mad for these severed heads. Well, if they are happy, I'm happy . I'm still looking for a rock hard item to hang on my car's rear view mirror. SSC has produced quite some exclusives that come into account...

To bad I don't open my 12" figures' boxes.
