So I was moving my figures around and when I lifted Robocop his arm fell out of the socket. I checked the other arm, it fell out. Then the legs... they fell out too.

I tried to reattach them but they weren't holding. I took a look at the sockets and they were cracked and spread open. :horror

Anyone else had this problem?

:horrorFirst ED's dome. Now this. Oh hell. I'm afraid to look at my Robo now. If he's got the same problem, he may turn into a glued in pose statue soon. Thanks for the heads up.

Got pics? And which RoboCop?! :impatient:

This is going to suck big donkey. Just checked my figure and there're no problems. I got rid of my Rambo II because of the potential rubber deterioration of the body and will likely do the same with my Flightpack Robo if this winds up being an issue. Total ____ing shame because I love this figure. But I'd rather him go before this ____ starts happening than experience it. :(

It's the Robocop 3 with gun arm. Not the jetpack version.

The cracked sections don't feel 'loose'.

I did use a bit of vaseline on the joints to get them in. I don't know if that would cause something like this. :dunno

I'll keep an eye on mine, since it's essentially the same figure with added accessories. It looks like you might be able to reglue it if you can get him apart. The Vaseline was probably a factor in it rotting though.

Yeah, I think so too. I just used a q-tip to wipe the socket and it had some black on it.

At least it's not in pieces. I'm going to open it up and clean the sockets then try and fix it. I've never done anything with epoxy so I'm really not sure what's best to use.

Maybe a hot glue gun?

Nah, hot glue is too flexible I would think - I would use just regular Crazy Glue. Pop a dab in there and then add the arm/leg and move it around some. That is how I fixed my blue alien figure which did the same thing on all four joints. It did take about five applications per joint but they are tight and holding to this day - you just need to apply as much patience as glue...

Its definitely the Vaseline that killed the joints. Nothing will reverse that damage now.

Never use petroleum based products on anything plastic or rubber.

i knew something wasn't right. i have the same figure and the rubber and joints are still in perfect condition. but yeah, the vaseline ruined your figure. lesson learned.
