A friend of mine sold his Bond PF Moore statue and it had a yellowish cream colored shirt. Can anyone take a look at theirs and see if that shirt is white or yellowish and if it was originally yellowish. My buddy is a great guy and I've seen the actual piece myself and the shirt was yellowish cream. The buyer I was told was a little upset and understandingly so if that shirt was supposed to be white. The buyer even mentioned mold which I have never seen at his home. He's squeaky clean. I wish I had his home. Thanks for anyones help

The one in question was for like 8 years next to Connery and Brosnan and those are still to this day white shirted . I think the material used for the Roger Moore shirt was crap. No smoke or uv. In fact the room is completely dark(no windows exist)unless you turn on the light to view. Then the light is shut when leaving. No mold either. I saw another one in this forum that was complained about on another thread. It's a a freakin rare piece too so it's a kinda hard to try to talk to those who have presently. Just as a friend and neighbor I just had to ask and now pretty curious too.

Was he the original owner? Was it white when he got it? If incandescent or fluorescent lights were in the room, even without sunlight they can cause fading/discoloring too.

Original owner yes he was. He has low level LEDs lit up only when his pieces get looked at otherwise it's in complete darkness(no windows are in the room, several rooms were done like this for total shelving), also no smoke at all. The only conclusion we came up with is that this material just got yellower on its own. I remember helping him set it up and it was an off white shirt that just got yellower on its own. The Brosnan and Connery that he's still got and are older pieces that he's still got and were for over 7 years displayed all together have their shirts as white as snow still. It has to be something about the material. We discussed it last night. And the house is mold free too in case that's brought up. It's a puzzle he's dying to solve. It's strange thing man.

The question is why would only Roger Moores shirt out of every statue he's got be the only one that has yellowed. It has to be the material/statue itself. There ain't no other explanation

The answer (I expect) would lie in the discoloration pattern. If it's something external - light, Radon, smoke - then I would think it should only appear on areas that are exposed, and the areas under the jacket would still be white. Same goes for the body - if it was a chemical reaction to the resin or paint on the statue, it should mainly show up in areas with the most contact to the body (you probably wouldn't see it much on the outside of the collar, for example).

If the shirt is all-around off white, with no discoloration pattern, then I can only think of the fabric used to make it as a factor, honestly. I don't know anything about the Roger Moore PF run, but there's always the possibility that they changed materials for the shirt somewhere in the production run, and your friend got an early or late one that had subpar fabric. Who knows, you could be looking at a variation that no one knows exists at this point.

We are 100% confident that it's the material after discussing it again.

Something could have happened to THIS piece at the manufacturing plant. For all you know a worker could have spilled something on this one that didn't discolor it right away, but over time did and also formed the mold. Or it did discolor it to the yellowish color right away thus your friend never noticing it getting worse over time. Mold doesn't form from just bad material.

I would not think something like that would be as evenly yellowed as he is describing. Almost like the dye they used yellowed with age or something like that.
