I went out to get one today, and after going to EVERY store I could think of - I came up empty... cant I just buy a generic 1/6 figure somewhere???

depends on what you are looking for.................go to kaybee toys if you have one. they seem to carry a military line that covers soldiers from different eras (ww2/vietnam/modern) . some good cannibalizing material anyway for less than 10 bucks.

I saw the title of this thread and felt compelled to agree!
Not even at my Walmart. Except for that excuse of a Batman, and some 12" WWE wrestler guys...and some Indy figs....no 12" Joes, no other guys....nothing. Thank God for the Net!

I feel your pain! :rock

Hell, I'd take more of those Soldiers of the World guys! At least they had some good gear occasionally!

:lol Could you imagine our collections if we only bought locally?

Crazy isn't it? I remember hitting Suncoast, EB, KayBee, FYE, Babbage's, Media Play, TRU, Ames, Hills, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Family Toy Warehouse for figures not even 6 six years ago! Half those places don't even exist anymore!

There is a local hobby shop that deals mostly with role playing games, model trains and miniature airplanes. They have a selection of 12" figures so I am lucky. If it were not for them, nothing here

My local TRU used to carry the 21C Ultimate Soldier and BBi Elite Force lines but unfortunately there has been a downturn in the 1:6 market so now they only seem to carry the 1:18 stuff. Kaybee toys used to be another good place to find stuff but we went from having 4-5 of them down to 1 and with gas prices they way they are I don't feel like making a 50 mile round trip just to check what they have in stock. All my local hobby shops deal either exclusively with war gamming or modeling, not that I am complaining though because at least I have a local hobby shop which has been a source for the majority of my modeling supplies and paint. Bless the internet for giving me the ability to live life vicariously from behind a keyboard.

I'm fortunate to have an entertainment store called Hastings that has SS and some HT and Medi 12'' stuff in stock right in my town. They have quite a few collectibles actually.

There's two comic shops in my town, both are heavy wit role-playing , but neither carry any 12" figures. One store owner told me last year it "Doesn't pay to go into Star Wars figures".

Well, hit up my KayBee lastnight, and found about 5 World Soldiers (I think that was the name) on clearance for $6.98 - nada besides those...

It sucks even more for me , I have a forbiddenplanet ( collectible store ) 5 minutes away from my house and they must sell everything but (decent ) 12 inch figures. :lol

My wife just came back from the UK yesterday and she told me Healey's (?) was clearancing 12" Doctor Who figures. She got me an extra Doctor figure from the sale.

12" Joes are slowing getting back on shelves. They don't really look that great to me, but there's some good parts there. Other than that Indy is pretty much it.

never heard of that place to be honest.

DR.Who is probably a thing you can easily get hold of over here.
The only problem is I don't collect Dr. Who stuff. :eek::lol

Its so ironic... :eek::rotfl
