The latest version looks better, I think that was just a badly painted proto, the one at comic con looked much better

I was hoping this would be usable but if the production piece looks like this I'll have to pass. The chin and hair are ok, but eyes are all wrong and it completely ruins the likeness for me.

Yeah, I have to agree here. It looked better in the promo shots (huh, don't they all. :lol) and so I don't think It's going to be much use unless it was completely worked over sadly.

Yeah, I've got it and I'll be emailing her about trying to get some coats sorted.

I hope things work out for you at your end soon. :)

Just to let folks know that this project is still viable and that the coat is being worked on as we speak. I'll be moving home in the coming weeks so may not be able to update so often, but I'm still determined to get this project completed. :D

Oh that looks interesting. Thanks for that.

I've PM'd him over there and see how much he's selling them for. The likeness isn't as good as I'd like, but It's a start. I'd still like to see what William Shatners Toupee could come up with though.

Sorry for no recent updates, but a combination of health problems and preparing to move home has meant less time online, but I will be getting back to pushing this project forward soon If folks are still up for it. :)

Now that things are settling down here for me, I'm definitely back on board.

I wonder would Big chief make a Jack figure?

Who know is they'll make it past their intial 11th Doctor offerings? :dunno That's four presumably expensive figures they have to sell through, three of which aren't Doctors. I wish Big Chief all the best, but expensive items that aren't Doctors are going to be a very tough sell. Hell, expensive items that are Doctors are still a tough sell.

Besides, I enjoy making my own anyway.

Excellent! I'm so pleased to hear that hun. I'm afraid I never got around to emailing your costume friend, so If you wish to do so that would be great as I'm going to be tied up for a few more weeks still.

I'd love It If Big Chief did a Jack, but somehow I think he's going to be very low down on their list, If at all as they have a lot of other more recent new Who characters to get through first.

No problem. I'll get in touch with her.

I heard back from Amy Jones at ajclothiers this morning. She sent me some pics of a prototype coat she made (belt not added yet) and wanted me to get some feedback. I already told her it was too long and probably needs to be a bit darker.

Other than the length I think it looks pretty good. I'd be on board for one. Tell her that it goes to the ankles so she doesn't make it too high.

Yes I agree.Thats not bad at all, but as others gave said the colour could be a tad darker and less light blue looking and the length shortened a tad.

Very nicely done and It's getting there. :D

Yeah, the coat needs to stop right about the bottom of the calf, and I definitely think it's too light. It needs to be closer to a charcoal grey.

Looks awesome so far! 3 questions:

1. Can the buttons be replace with something more detailed and more accurate?
2. Can the button holes be added to the coat? (see pic) It'll really sell the coat with them added.
3. What material is the inside of his coat? In the first pic posted above, you can see that there is a different material inside.

Also, not related to Captain Jack, but related at the same time. :lol

I'll ask.

I'm sure she could add faux buttonholes with stitching. Functional buttonholes, probably not. Again, I'll ask.

The real coat has what appears to be a lighter grey satin lining, but I can already tell you that won't be an option as she doesn't do linings, I already asked.

Keep in mind everyone, the price quoted is $40, we're only going to get a certain level of detail for that price. This isn't going to look like a $250-$300 Kato coat. I don't want to give anyone false expectations.

Ok, she says she can probably add the buttonholes, and she's going to search for new buttons. Handsewn buttons and buttonholes are going to raise the price though.
