Captain Toy Picks...Top Ten Sixth Scale Disappointments Under $100

Earlier this week, I reviewed a figure that was...disappointing. That got me thinking about other disappointments, and I realized there's been an awful lot. I'm breaking out a Top Ten this week, but it's a subset of the entire universe of possible candidates. I'm looking at the Top Ten Sixth Scale Disappointments Under $100. Notice both the scale AND the value categorization. I suspect I'll be doing at least two more 'disappointment' lists, one for over $100, and one for smaller scale figures. Never seen some of those figures. I would be more curious to see a list of most expensive disappointments.

Oh god that Anna Valorius is awful lol. I don't know how much they cost but the Sideshow X-Files figures were BAD.

There's been so many bad figures over the years. Must be a very hard list to make.

Yeah, they're terrible.

I second seeing the more expensive list because that will really bust out the discussions here.

I think it's a 'classic' Sideshow release showing that they never got away from shoddy paintwork and incorrect head size for the prices they charge...

they made a mistake. They saw these other companies selling figures in the $100 0 $150 range...even up to $200 in some cases! They raised their prices relatively quickly, going from $25, to $40, to $60, to $80, but the quality of the releases didn't match. Rather than bite the bullet and make a big jump, with a much improved body, much improved sculpts, and much improved paint, they tried to merely tweak what they were already doing. They've been tweaking ever since, and still haven't caught up.

Pretty much every 1/6 under $100 is guaranteed to be a disappointment

Some of the first 50 or 60 HT figures were less than $100 and some were pretty good for the time. I can think of a few...but not many.
