Any tips out there on how to get a ding out that is about the size of a penny. Mind you my car has a clear coat and no paint was damaged. With the success of other car threads I figured I would give it a shot before I have to fork out $150 to a professional. :monkey1

Can't help you, but door dings suck. If people weren't so stupid and inconsiderate in parking lots, these wouldn't happen. :lecture

as small as a penny can be tough.

I'm being serious here. I have pulled out dings using a toilet plunger, but they were bigger than that. But its worth a try.

Try using dry ice.Seriously rub the area with dry ice (CO2).It should cause it to pop out.If that doesn't work there are small dent pullers (suction cups) at auto parts stores.Use the two together and it should pop right out.

I have about 3 on mine. First one was within a month of owning it brand new. I used to park way out in the parking lot by myself. Then I'd come out and there would be cars parked on either side of me so I just quit doing that.

My first brand new car was backed over by a van after only owning it 3 months. :monkey4

i know it's a piss off right now, but i would forget about them as you will only get more as it gets older.

i know once about three years ago i parked in the lot and told my son to watch his door when he opened it, well when he opened it a big gust of wind came up and the door smacked the next car rather baddly.

i felt horrible enough to move and park somewhere else. funny thing is now he make a big effort now not to hit the cars next to us.

^^I found I guy that specializes in that and hopefully can help me some time this week.

Thanks for the help ladies! :duff

Take it to a pro. Don't buy that pops a dent crap it will make it worse. Seriously just pay the money. You shell out X amount for a PF why not $150 to keep your car looking good. This shouldn't even be a question IMO.

Paintless dent repair. Should be fine as long as its not on a body line or curve. Don't try it yourself. you can knock the paint loose.

Yeah, I have an appointment today and its going to cost about $70 but it will be well worth it. Do it yourself crap usually ends up biting me in the ass anyways and that is just wasted money in the end.
