Let's stick with the horror theme tonight with a look at the NECA Carrie figure from the new film, opening this weekend at a theater near you. I'm checking out the bloody version of the poor yet powerful young lady tonight.

You can find the review at the usual:

Thanks for reading, and have a terrific weekend!

I actually read the movie is a remake of the original film, and they pretty much ignored King's novel. Sadly, nobody reads anymore.

Really? That kinda suck. I thought they said that this was suppose to be more closer the novel.

Yea, there's been lots of different things said.

And I don't know who you're counting as 'no one', but people read quite a bit these days. They don't read paper - it's dead. And because of that I do think there's a generation in the 80's/90's that didn't read much, but with the advent of e-books and e-readers on your phone, I think reading has made a very strong comeback. Publishers are going to get their butts kicked, but there's a whole new world of opportunity for authors to make a living.

My tween kids are voracious readers, as are all their friends. It's easy again with their phones. You can never underestimate the importance of ease.

Being the father of two avid readers myself (at just 3 and 7), I'd say our kids are more the exceptions, not the rule. Kids nowadays can't even sit through an in-depth magazine article let alone a 300pg novella.

Just saw the film last night. I really enjoyed it! Chloe Moretz did a great job and Julianne Moore was extremely creepy! Sad and frustrating movie but I really liked it.
