hmm... i still dont know about him being chosen as the new bond. i think he's a great actor, but when i think of the sterotypical bond he's just not who i would ever imagine playing him.

The movie looks very good. It seems to have all the ingredients of a typical Bond movie, i.e hot chick, tons of action, and a f**ked up villian. I agree with HairlessWookiee about the new Bond. I like Craig as an actor but he just doesn't have the typical bond appearance...tall and black haired with a hairy chest. I will still see it in theatres regardless because I am Bond fan but I still think Clive Owen would have been a better choice.

clive owen running for bond?? man he would've been pretty good. it might just be because of my age, but pierce brosnan and timothy dalton are who i picture as the ideal bond. (connery is the best of course)

:007 I am SO taking Nov 17th off! :007

As a lifelong 007 fanboy I believe that science could not genetically engineer a better actor to play Bond than Clive Owen. However, he's not Bond and I am willing to give Daniel Craig a chance to prove himself. If he can pull off the goofy "rebirth" storyline and make me believe in his Bond then kudos.
If not, I have all the others on tape.
I was born a Bond fan and I will die a Bond fan. :007

^^^ . are you saying that they plan on remaking some other bond movies???
:emperor

I hope not, because all the old ones were good to begin with. Although Connery was a good actor, I personally find Brosnan to be the ideal Bond. I just think he has more charisma than Connery. On a side note, who is that hottie in this movie??? She looks really hot:D

Well it's not "technically" a remake as Casino Royale hasn't been made "officially" before. :D
But the story is setup as James Bond Year 0. The plot is how James Bond gained his Licence to Kill and his first assignment as 007. I've heard no news on whether they'll be remaking the others.
Of course our last 007 film (Die Another Day) was a remake of Diamonds are Forever. So mea culpa.
Oh and the babe is Eva Green.

The movie looks good, but he is NOT a good Bond. He is ugly. I'm I'm not mistaken, Bond is supposed to be somewhat good looking

My sentiments EXACTLY! I will give him a chance.... so far it looks to be quite the ride... I think it will be really good, but We'll have to see on Nov 17th!

I'm hoping the reboot works, but I agree that he's not what you think of when you think of "Bond." And I love Dame Judy, but if it's a reboot, why not cast all new people? Will Cleese be Q?

And this isn't a remake and after this one I'm sure they'll continue with "original" stories. The only remake was Never Say Never, which was a remake of Thunderball.

While the film it self looks AMAZING, as a Bond fan, I still feel Daniel Craig looks like a blonde chimpanzie with a big nose, and no eyebrows. He looks great as an action star, just not as the character of JAMES BOND.

My perfect pick would have been Hugh Jackman.

I don't think there will be a Q as he wasn't introduced in the books until after Casino Royale right?

As for Hugh Jackman... personally, I can't think of any role in any movie I'd like to see him in.

I beg to difffer.
Diamonds Are Forever: The bad guy with a new face uses illegally obtained diamonds to build a space laser satellite. Bond stops him.

Die Another Day: The bad guy with a new face uses illegally obtained diamonds to build a space laser satellite. Bond stops him.

:D

p.s.: I really want a Mr. Wint & Mr. Kidd figure two pack. They are the most underrated henchmen ever!

:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

Yeah, now that you mention it.... those two films ARE nearly identical in plot. I'll be damned.

And the two henchmen in question.... hilarious...probably the strangest duo I've seen in the Bond films, but still very memorable. I love how they died! :D

I hate to judge something before I have actually seen it, so I will have to view the new Bond before I say if he is a bad choice or not...as has been proven MANY times in the past it is very hard to judge a movie by its trailer...I'am not sure if he is the right choice or not but I'am looking forward to a new Bond film and will accept Craig for now..

I have to say this looks fantastic. Im glad to hear that theyre gloing away from the tricked out gadgets(invisible cars?! ) and more into the drama and darker side to bond.
I really like him as bond, I'm really antisipating this movie.
:chew

Aside from someone else playing Bond my two biggest wishes for this are that
1. Dench isn't M, solely because it is supposed to be set in the past
2. That it is set in the past somewhere between the 30's and the 50's.
Obviously the Bond movies defy reality with time or else he'd be really old by now, but my understanding is they modernized this one (so I'm guessing that means setting it in present day) but its goes to Bonds begining, which creates a huge dillemma...do I put this move before Dr. No or after Die Another Day? Well here's to hoping its at least good.

I get the impression it's more a reboot than a origin story. Although a Bond at the end of WWII would be an interesting story I think. But this is Bond for the new generation, kinda like New Coke.
