Hi, I am VERY new to sculpting, and had a couple questions.

I will be trying out sculpey first, can you make a cast of a cured sculpey statue? How much detail gets lost? is there shrinkage and what is the best way to avoid it. What is the best material to use as a mold? and what is the best type of resin to use to make the cast?

I got a lot of info from Tim Bruckner's book popsculture (awesome by the way) but he sculpts a rough casts it in wax details the wax and than makes a mold of the wax and casts in resin, I am trying to avoid the wax part of this process.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

First project is underway, will show pics soon! Very excited about it
