Hey guys, I wasn't sure if I should've posted this in the EFX or even the King Arts threads but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the newer shields. I'm debating on getting one of these now since they don't have the raised star anymore. I either get one of these for $200 or try and save another $400 to get the EFX one but finances are tight due to other future HT figures, SSC Premium Formats and other things.

It is made by PVC, more accurate to movie compared to prev version.
But the circles are still not so, as u can see middle blue circle is protruding, instead movie one is not.

If you don't mind, with this low price I think can have a try. However, the painting you might need to be prepared if it might not as good as photos.

That shield looks good, but I'm not a fan of unlicensed stuff.

My vote is biased, but I say spend the extra money and go from King Arts. The shield is top-notch for quality. I bought the battle-damaged version and my only regret is that I haven't bought the 'Classic' and 'Stealth' versions yet.

FWIW....ive dealt with this seller and he ships really fast and is really responsive.

I had no problems with seller. I bought a battle damaged one for when I will cosplay Captain America at NYCC this Fall.

Quality is very good, but shield is thinner and a little smaller than the EFX one I have hanging in my office. I think it's 22 inches wide vs. 24 inches for the EFX shield.

I can post some pictures tonight when I get home from work.

Here is the shield that I have been making for friends. This is number 5, just need to add 2 coats of Satin clear. I buy the blanks from the RPF and do all the finishing work myself. This is 24" and 1/8 thick aluminum.

I don't have a picture of the back but they are very nice dark brown leather straps with metal accents on the brackets.

If anyone is interested, the shield will run you $600 plus shipping and I can have it done in about a week.

Edit: added my battle damaged version and the brackets minus the metal accent buckles on the ends

That would actually be nice, man! If you have both, comparison pics would be awesome as well!

So do your shields not have the metal circles on the back?

Here's a few pics of Cattoys Battle Damaged Shield compared to the EFX replica hanging in my office.

The Cattoys one I bought last winter is aluminum and 22 inches wide and about 1/8 inch thick. The EFX is 24 inches wide and i'm guessing between a quarter inch to half inch thick and made of figerglass. The Cattoys I have is a decent replica, but the colors (especially the red) are darker than the EFX. The paint is decent, with only a little sloppy around the blue circle and the star. The star also looks bigger relative to the stripes than the EFX shield. The EFX looks more like the prop (and should considering it cost alot more). If the pics up top are Cattoys, they have improved their product since I bought mine. The one up top looks like it has more movie accurate colors and has a better paint job than mine.

i think what you buy depends how important screen accuracy is to you. The Cattoys looks decent for $200 and most people that aren't hard core fans (like most of us on this board) would think it looks perfectly fine. I wanted a movie accurate prop, so the EFX is hanging in my office and will never come off the wall. i neeed a second shield to use for cosplay and the Cattoys fit the bill- it wasn't that expensive and was something I could carry around a convention floor over a weekend. i was too concerned about something happening to the EFX one during all the chaos on the floor of NYCC.
