box office predictions have it at 45-48 opening, Secret life of pets is predicted to get a 55 second weekend.
I guess it is a race between those two. we will see. GB needs to make at least 480 mil on its running to break even, Let's see how they do

I'm guessing between 50 to 60 M. I fully expect it to be the # 1 movie this weekend, Due to the controversy and the fact there's really nothing else big opening against it. The studio will get to crow that they defeated the haters. But in the end it will underperform.

A ton of sites are giving this good reviews (although a few of those sites are being accused of having "sponsored" reviews) but not the "this is horrible!" kind of thing expected save a couple. I have a feeling this will do about 50 million and edge out The Secret Life of Pets then drop off.

It needs to make double that to see any profit. Any less and they lose money

Why does it have to make double that to make a profit? Pretty sure advertising is pretty much written off as a business expense.

About 48 million. Frankly, I think it's silly people are accusing sites of giving fake reviews in it's favor just because they're so determined to hate it. Maybe it's actually good? Nobody is saying it's great like the original, only it's a decent, fun movie. That's it. So stupid. And this is coming from someone who's fave movie of all time is Ghostbusters, who has Ghostbusters 2 in his top 10 films of all time, grew up with real ghostbusters(toons/toys, etc.), owns the complete series of that on dvd, and dressed up like Egon for Halloween in second grade. I also don't think GB3 should have been made once Harold Ramis passed. I'm the most hardcore of the hardcore...and even I want to see the remake. I want to give it a chance. If it's terrible, fine, I can ignore it. If it's good, cool. We have a fun homage.
