I really liked the movie too... haven't read the book. I've been meaning to, just haven't gotten around to it.

And definitely an interesting project for TV, not something that you'd expect to see. Hopefully it doesn't suffer from SciFi original production syndrome.

hopefully it will translate to small screen just as well without Cuaron's active hand in it's making.
the movie was brilliant.

The movie was great, but it was pretty much ended. Don't know how they will expand it for a series. This is just one more example on how people can't think of any new ideas

I loved the movie and have come back to it several times since watching it for the first time. Picking up some of the film/book's social/political themes, I think there are still some interesting stories to tell in that world--even without Clive Owen around.

What I liked about the movie is how it told a specific and fairly simple story against a backdrop of great turmoil and bigger issues like immigration, etc. I think that a series has potential as they dig deeper into some of the ideas that were more in the background of the film.

Intresting, espeacially with the seires centering on the young people who become rock stars.
Hope the way the poster and billboards are animated will be copied but there must be other unused material to make something new from.

i really enjoyed the movie and thought the end battle in the hotel/apartment with the army was awesome.......that was incredible cinematography. i too wonder how it may translate to the small screen. lots of stories could be spun off from the time the ship picked up the child.

Hmmm... to me it sounded like this wouldn't relate much to the film, but be a separate series based on the idea and themes of the book. But either way they go with it, I'll be very interested in seeing how it pans out.

I think GB is right...this is going to be based more on the themes of the book than the movie itself. I see a lot of potential for this.

I'm just glad it's going to be on SciFi and not CBS or Fox were it would be canceled after 7 episodes.

Ooo interesting. I loved the film and book. The film did wrap up at the end (somewhat) but the book is much more open ended. Of course the book and film are really very different (only a couple of themes and names of characters were brought over for the film treatment...everything else was completely different).
