Just bought the Blu the other night...this movie RULES. JeeJa Yanin is awesome. Same director as Ong Bak and The Protector.

Very Cool. :rock Is that going to theaters or straight to dvd?

It just came out last Tuesday on DVD and Blu-ray, but was released internationally a few months before. JeeJa trained for about 4 years in Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do, and a variety of other styles to prepare. She was simply amazing in the film...and is slowly getting a cult following. I love girls who can kick ass...for real kind. The injuries everyone suffers in this film are insane...

Here's a Blu-ray review of it on Blu-ray.com:

saw this in the cinema a few months ago. pretty kick-ass!
but they really aren't paying the poor stuntmen enough, for the kind of punishment they were put thru to make this movie. watch the end outtakes to see what i mean...

No wires? Wow. Please tell me its subtitled.

But of course! I hate those damn dubbed films. And there is one killer end fight scene that takes place on the side of a building, so I believe they did use wires in that scene to protect JeeJa from severly injuring herself should she fall 30 feet onto cement...if they didn't that's pretty sick. But I think no wires means no wires used to help the performers leap and stuff and none of the Crouching Tiger wire stuff. In any case, this movie was brutal and would never be made in America...see first post for the outtakes.

Cool :joy. So who do you think would win her or Tony Jaa :lsvader

While I usually don't like trying to figure out who would win between martial artists, I'll give this a try. Jaa has a lot more muscle mass and power, but JeeJa knows more styles of fighting (she studied Tae Kwon Do mostly, but the film shows you she also knows Muay Thai, Jeet Kun Do, and some Kung Fu). I think Jaa to be honest is not really a fighter, but more of a gymnast. JeeJa stays away from the fancy flips and sticks to punches and kicks. She is more of a straight fighter. In the end I have no clue who would win, but in terms of Jaa's character from Ong Bak (Ting) vs. JeeJa's from Chocolate (Zen), Zen wins easily. Her character Zen is able to mimic exact fighting styles in a matter of seconds, almost like a fighting prodigy. She is like Rain Man, and would qucikly find a way to beat Ting. And that's the end of my nonsensical rant :)

Outtakes added to first post :D

Your right about jaa he is a gymnast not really a fighter. I remember watching a behind the scenes about him. As far as JeeJa this is the first time I've seen her. She is good, ill be keeping an eye out for this movie

JeeJa is coming back this year in a new film! :rock :rock

From:

https://twitchfilm.net/site/view/chocolates-jeeja-yanin-returning-to-the-big-screen-in-2009/

Now, while I am of the opinion that Prachya Pinkaew’s most recent martial arts film Chocolate is a deeply flawed piece of work, there is no doubt whatsoever that it’s star - Jeeja Yanin - is a huge talent, one who can go as far as she wants to with her martial arts skills. But can she act? We’re about to find out ...

Word is out in Thailand that Yanin has been quietly working on her sophomore feature. Already in production, very little is known about this one so far - not even the proper title - but the film is apparently deep enough into the process that a mid-2009 release date is being projected. All that is being said so far is that the film - referred to for the time being as the Jeeja Project - is an action romance featuring a mixed-race male star (a rarity in Thailand, where foreign influence can still be an issue) and that she will be called upon to show a great deal more range in her performance.

What is most surprising here is how quiet production company Sahamongkol Film has been keeping this. With the European Film Market right around the corner you would expect this to be plugged in all of their current mailings but there hasn’t been a single mention of it so far. Have the extensive production delays with both Chocolate and Ong Bak 2 taught Sahamongkol to play their cards a little close to the chest this time? More details as we get them ...
