maybe I am the only one to do this, but I rarely have anything on a christmas list. If I want something, I usually just go out and buy it. I'm not a fan of having someone buy something for me. then you feel obligated to buy something for them in return. I would much rather nobody get me anything, then I don't have to get them anything. PLEASE don't tell me I'm the only idiot who feels this way....

You're not alone. Sort of.

When people ask me what they should buy me, I go ahead and tell them. If they feel like they want to buy me something, who am I to say no?

By the same token, should I ever feel the need, I'll buy something for them. Maybe. But I'll never do it out of a sense of obligation. Only out of a desire to buy something for that person.

Make sense?

With that in mind:

Kong EE DVD
Narnia EE DVD
Buffy PF (Already "hidden" in the closet)
A Blackburn Trackstand indoor bicycle trainer
A cycling computer with GPS and heartrate monitor
Superman Returns: The Videogame on Xbox 360
Call of Duty 3 on Xbox 360
A pair of really comfortable, stylish and functional all-weather boots
The following CDs:
M.I.A. "Arular"
Black Grape: "It's Great When You're Straight ... Yeah"
Tosca: "J.A.C."
Sigur Rós: "Takk"
BT: "This Binary Universe"
Nickel Creek: "Reasons Why: The Very Best"
+44: "ST"

You're definitely not the only one who feels this way. As for that Christmas list up there, WOW! Is your mom rich? As a child I would usually get one big thing and then nothing else or all little things. Your list seems excessive. Don't take offense, just my opinion.

I'm with you on this one conger. I'm blessed enough with what I have that I get very uncomfortable when someone asks what I want for my birthday or Christmas. You definetly are not an idiot.

Thats quite a list.. However whats the fun if you know everything from the get go.. I guess Im getting old, I wont be getting much nor did I ask for much.

With a kid due any day now I guess Ill be the one fullfilling those lists and not recieving them..

HO HO HO!!!

I normally don't have a "list" either since I usually get whatever I want for myself throughout the year. Around about October or so, I DO hold up on getting some things, however, so when the inevitable "what you want?" comes from my hubby, I can tell him exactly what he can get me. I've tried the "I've got everything I need" method but I usually wind up with something that I wish he hadn't even wasted his time to get me (and I have to "oooh" and "aaah" for). I've also tried hinting....I seem to have a hubby who is a moron with a 175 IQ. So, to ease his suffering of having to THINK about it, I throw him a coupla bones and give him specifics for things that are moderate and not difficult to get. I also get something that I want myself then give it to hubby -- "here honey, you got this for me. You can wrap it and put it under the tree."

The answer is no!

"You'll shoot your eye out! You'll shoot your eye out! You'll shoot your eye out!"

I always make an Xmas list of what I want.
And once Ive bought it all, I then start my Xmas shopping.

I always tell my friends. My present to you is you dont have to buy me anything and your present to me is I dont have to buy you anything.

We usually invite a lot of friends over on Xmas day and just drink and be merry. We buy a lot of random gifts, some real good, some gag gifts, wrap them and then have contests to see who gets to pick a prize. Last year I picked up those shock tanks from Spencer's and everybody battled it out. Had a blast.

Josh, Light Grenades by Incubus is an "ok" album. I believe you've been a good boy this year. I can burn you a copy if you like?
That would be illegal, not that illegal activity is something surprising coming from you Danny.:D

my parents are the only people that i make a list for-- and that strictly because if i dont they buy me stupid stuff. you can ask them, they have no idea what to get me every year. now my girlfriend i usually just ask to get me one big thing and the rest is up to her.
this year:
I had her get me the Punisher PF that was on sale this week (and she ordered it!!)
and she is paying for my darth maul inclusive edition.
my parents are gonna give me some gift certificates so i can go buy some new clothes. and they said they would probably buy me a couple video games too.

Christmas came early for me this year. The wife ordered me a Jason PF and had no place to hide it, so she just gave it to me early.

:chew :banana :joy :fest

Not only that, but the Demon Freddy PF that I won during Spooktacular will be here next week. I also credit the Demon Freddy to my wife because she really wanted it (so I guess it's "ours") and made me call back after my first wussy attempt.

The only other thing left on my "list" is a Wii. I'll take care of that myself after the holidays with all the Best Buy gift cards I will inevitably get.
