Hi! This thread is ANCIENT! If you are just finding it, there are many newer Who threads started after this by different people as dealings my with Ada stopped due to problems with her QC. The only thing still valid on this is the Revenge of the Cybermen kit talk in the most recent posts with a seperate sculptor, Neil Sims.
Thanks!-Rick (updated 8-1-09]

I am down with a Sarah Jane!

Awesome! Thanks, John! If no one joined in on these commissions, none would ever get done.

For future Doctor Who head commissions, we have some awesome plans lined up once these are completed. Down the road is a 5th Doctor/Nyssa, I know Vikki really wants a Colin, and I'm trying to come up with a plan to make a Revenge of the Cybermen kit (head/chest/hoses) viable, because it's expensive to get made, but damn we really want them (replacing the failed "Invasion" Cyberman kit planned before). More details as we work them out, but we're taking potentially interested names right now just to start the list and see how many people we can get involved. :) :banana

I have a suggestion for something a bit different. How about asking Ada if she could sculpt the "Hand Of Fear" as an accessory for Sarah Jane?

I like the hand idea as an accessory. I don't know how many of you would be willing to pay for a commission of that, but let me know. I'll find out the price for something that small.

Glad you like the idea WST,I think it'd be a nice addition to the set of Classic Doctor Who sculpts.
Regarding other commissions I intend to contribute to the Classic Doctor Who lineup in the future by getting a Brigadier sculpt done. It won't be for at least another couple of months but I thought I'd mention it to gauge intrest.

I changed out the Robot of Death Voc with the Sixth Doctor as a commission because of BillyB threatening to send me Bea Arthur nudes if I didn't (laugh) and as Vikki just offered her amazing remaining 6th Doctor outfits for sale, it just seemed a lot more useful of a head to a greater majority of people right now.

BTW, the Revenge of the Cybermen kits are a go. We're doing them! More details as I get them worked out!

That's one hell of a threat! :)
I'm cool with the change to the 6th Doctor and will look forward to hearing more about the Cybermen kits.

Here are some pics of the 6th Doctor outfits I have available for sale. So if you want to help us to commission a 6th Doc head sculpt, there still are a few of these outfits available to go with the finished head sculpt. You can click here for more info on this outfit and other custom outfits I have for sale.

BTW, it's been three years since I last made anything for sale. The only reason I'm now offering a very limited number of outfits for sale is so I can help to fund more Who head sculpt commissions. I need Who head sculpts to go with all the outfits I've sewn in the past and that I want to sew in the future! I'm supporting my addiction! :D

how much is a cyberman kit? if the price is right im definately in...what will the kit consist of?

That's what I need to find out yet. I am waiting to hear back from Neil to make sure he's still game and that it's cool to switch from the planned INVASION type to REVENGE style.

At the very least, it would be the Revenge Cybermen head, chest unit and arm/leg pipes. I don't know if the "accorodian type" elbow/knee joint covers would be in there, but ideally I'd like them to be part of it, made of something flexible.

Lastly, I asked about still including an INVASION gun even though (if I remember right) the Revenge style didn't use them (they used their head guns), just because it would be a nice addition, and a Cybermat, and from there we'll figure out pricing, (but if he will do the Cybermat, we can always just sell that seperately to keep the cost of the kit itself down.

So trust me, when I hear something you'll hear something!

A Cybermat would be cool. Would it be the cute one with the bug eyes from "Tomb Of The Cybermen" or one of the later ones?

I was thinking the Revenge one, and would save the Tomb one for an actual Tomb Cyberman kit, were that to ever happen.

I want the Revenge kits to be affordable, so today I came up with the idea maybe we can ask Neil to sculpt a "Revenge" accessory pack to go along with the Kit and sell those seperately.

Maybe the accessory kit could have 2 Invasion Cyber guns just because I like my Cybermen to have guns, and a 2-3 Cybermats?

Sounds good to me. Another possibility for an accessory would be the device ( a bomb ) that the Cyber Leader is holding here,

the cyberbombs from the 5 doctors? thokse ones that surround the tardis those would be pretty cool to place around a custom tardis model :)

Yes!
Let's get that Colin Baker rolling!
I joined in for the first time with the Tom Baker sculpt and although I would like to see the neck extended a little bit, overall it was a very nice sculpt and a great cast.

To those new to the concept, we are now in a pretty sweet age where we can actually hire very talented 1:6 sculptors to make heads for us, but it's expensive.

Therefore we have these commission threads, where we get people to sign up who are interested in getting these heads to split the commissioning cost with, and collect the money first before hand to hire her and get them made.

Cost is $35 a head (includes portion of commissioning cost) for whichever character you are interested in (Sarah or the 6th Doctor), with a goal of getting 10 people involved, there after you can order extra copies of that character for just $15 bucks a head.

Ada can paint the heads for $10 each if you'd like. Shipping is $5 (maybe a few dollars more if you order a lot of heads).

If the list grows to 15 people, the cost of the heads will drop down to $30 a head. At 20 people involved the cost drops to $25.

In the past, I have already organized a slew of commissioned heads through Ada, including Sam and Dean from Supernatural, The Tall Man from Phantasm, Bishop from Aliens, and a Fourth Doctor and Leela from classic Doctor Who.

Ada does sell them on her site afterwards about $10 dollars cheaper, but the point of this thread is to actually hire her to get them made.

Sarah is planned to have hair at a Tom Baker era length that wont effect her head articulation, but the flip side is that I really don't want her to have short Pertwee era/early Tom era hair either. Maybe something close to the pic posted above? If worse comes to worse, articulation may be compromised, but the intention is to avoid it. :)

Cyber-bombs are a good idea to add in the accessory kit, either with a bomb to strap on a victim, or to put around the Tardis (though maybe THAT could be saved for an Earthshock Cyberman set?) Or I was thinking the kit could come with a damaged "Revenge" Cyberman head with part of a rotted zombie-like head exposed inside. That would be fun to customize myself too though.
No matter what, an accessory kit sounds like it would be "the bomb". (ducks).
