Hey Guys & Gals,

I'm in the Bay Area in business for the week/end and need any intel on where to find the best selection of PF and unique statues. I'm waiting for some of my pre-orders to get sent and am looking for something older and something unique. I did some yelp research but would love to hear your advice. Thanks for all your help. Love this community and our awesome hobby.

Not that this is helpful to you but I wish I could find shops that carried SS products in my area (NH). My local comic shop gets one every 6 months or so it seems and I've been scouring comic shops further and further away from home, coming up empty each time. I found one in Salem, MA that had the new Hellboy PF for a ridiculous price.

Something tells me that people on the West Coast have better luck.

Thanks for the reply Chronos!

I usually go to sideshow site and look at their retail store locator. I attached the link below. That being said, I've found that collectors and fans have better intellegemce than the computer.

Jeff, there's nothing here.... nothing. Comic shops are all over, but there's not much in the way of collectables.

Man, that's really a disappointment. I thought since it was so close to SS headquarters that there would be something...anything to cater to the collector.

Looks like I was wrong about the West Coast. Is it just too much of an expense for comic stores to carry these statues? You would think showpieces like PF statues would bring customers back just to see what the store has that month and even if they're not buying the expensive stuff, they're probably buying other, smaller things while they're there.

The one store that I went to in Salem, MA had 4 giant SS banners featuring different DC PFs but only had one PF statue. Seems like an odd choice.

There is a comic store about 45 mins from my house that carries SS stuff but all their prices have like a 10% markup over Retail and if SS is not selling it anymore then it's more like a 30% markup.... It's a cool place to check out the statues but I wouldn't buy anything there...

There are a places in the L.A. area that has SS items out on display, local comic shop will actually discount if able.
This doesn't really help, but there it is if you head south on the I5 freeway for about 6 hours.

in san francisco (or the entire bay area for that matter)...the best store is "cards and comics central". 5424 geary blvd. they have a sideshow account and get all the hot toys and PF figures. they do have an in-store mark up however...and it's not pretty. however they have amazing selection and its a great place to look at stuff. if you cant find a certain piece here, eBay is likely your only option. i've never seen a brick and mortar store with more selection.

they have a much smaller sister store in san leandro at the bayfair mall called "toys and sports". dont remember what they have in the way of PF but they do carry a decent amount of sideshow products.

"comic ink" in dublin and "flying colors comics" i do believe, both have some statues. mostly gentle giant if i remember correctly.

those are pretty much the only places worth while in the bay that i'm aware of. irregardless of which store you go to though, i can't imagine you coming out of any of them actually buying anything. the bay area brick and mortar markup is ridiculous.

Flying Colors is by me. They carry Bowen statues and busts as well as DC direct stuff. They have lots of great odds and ends like beer mugs, magnets, t-shirts, etc.
