Humidity can be pretty harsh on our statues...:banghead How you guys do to avoid ? Don't know if possible but..Any tips ?

Thank you

There is zero humidity where I live, dont have to deal with it at all.

You're welcome

Alot of my stuff is in my basement (which I use as an entertainment center). I have a dehumidifier running keeping it at 45% relative humidity. Nice and dry.:D

Since I use it as a theater as well, the only window is covered up. So no sunlight either. I get outside every so often. My skin is so pale it's almost see through now.:horror

The room my stuff is in is a joke. Theres a pipe that runs across to bottom and when I put the heating on this pipe always goes red hot heating up the whole room. I open the window everyday for about an hour but I keep finding mold everywhere. I'm paranoied its going to end up on my statues. I keep cleaning it off but it keeps coming back !.

On a serious note to your question... you want to maintain an average temp' of 23 deg C (74 F) at an average humidity of 65%. If you have your display below ground you might want to think about installing an exhaust fan fitted with a electronic barometer, moister gauge (AC contractor should be able to advise you of a suitable unit). Above ground you want to limit the amount of air change within the room. That is the amount of air that can flow through and around the room. Look at all door opening gaps as well as windows. Still/minimal amount of air is easier to manage than free flowing (humidifier etc..) Just some ideas for your info'. Also, if your display incorporates a lighting system take that into considersation as DC lights create more heat as against fluro and halogen.

Careful design....good luck.

Tay, get a small room dehumidifier. Also, I'm not sure opening the window is helping at all. It might be making it worse. That kind of heating system will make your room really damp, that's why you're getting so much mold. I used to have the same problem in my basement until I got central air and heating and piped it down there too. No more mold!
