To me, buying every little item that comes along dilutes the impact of the few truly exceptional items out there.
I have three 1/6 figures ... Enterbay Jack Bauer, HT BR Joker, SS Indiana Jones. I only buy the best figures of those characters that I consider iconic enough to warrant a figure.
I would likely buy a great Jason Bourne, James Bond, Superman, Tony Almeida, or John McClane. I think there is a reasonable chance of one or two of those coming out (in high quality) eventually. I've looked into the Hot Toys Superman -- though I will likely just wait for whatever reboot they conjure up. I'm on the fence about Batman and Harvey Dent (Dent has a special place for me ... I am an Assistant District Attorney).
I've seen the previous Bond incarnations, Bourne knock-offs, and McClane clones, and I wasn't impressed. I think the chances are actually pretty good that Enterbay makes a Season 7 Tony Almeida, though.
There are other characters that would be notable -- but the figures would have to be absolutely superb for me to even consider them ... Zod from Superman II; Lex Luthor or Clark Kent from Smallville; Maximus from Gladiator; Benjamin Martin from The Patriot; Kirk, Spock or Bones figures from Star Trek XI; maybe a character or two from The Departed. I see little to no chance of any of those coming out ... but they would get a glance from me if they did.
"Completism" is an affliction I will simply never understand. Spending thousands upon thousands of dollars on stuff that just gets lost in all the clutter (or boxed and placed in storage) makes no sense at all. Buy the best, and display it well ... leave the rest on the store shelves.
