COME ON Hot Toys, give us Al Pacino!

Now wtf people, Kojun works for HT now for months and he made TWO awesome Al Pacino figures and why aren´t they for sale yet`??
They can get the license for Batman and friggin Terminator but they won´t do figures for Heat and a Brian de Palma film that had mixed reviews and developed into a classic with a CULT following bigger than predator and alien together??!?

Yeah batman as a DX is nice but this figure is over a year old now and STILL has potential to be a DX.

Sure his Christian Bale looks badass but Terminator 4 was garbage and I won´t buy that John Connor even if it dropped to 20 bucks, but I and I believe you too would buy at least ONE Al Pacino figure.

Why can Kojun then sell his figs for 1000 a piece?

Sure I would love a young Pacino figure like in Serpico or Godfather but there allready are two excisting AWESOME sculpts so I just don´t get why HT doesn´t distribute them.

Because kojun was a customizer back then. Just like rainman, xenoviper, hurricane etc. They can make anyone's sculpt and it wouldn't be a problem, since it wasn't sold commercially.

While Hot Toys on the other hand is a COMPANY. Thus, they have to actually get the licenses, rights, and the whole shebang before they can make and sell a figure.

That's basically it, although it's more accurate to say that, technically speaking, Kojun is not legally allowed to sell them. However since they were produced in such small numbers it isn't really worth the actor's/producer's/studio's time to pursue him to get him to stop, especially since (if I remember rightly) they were never explicitly stated as being Pacino. Hot Toys would a) never be able to get away with trying to pass them off as a generic, non specific figure, and even if they could would b)have sales adversely affected by not being able to brand the items with the movie names and logos.

I would take every and anything Al Pacino made but you need to understand how hard it is to aquire some actors likeness rights. Kojun never had rights to make any of his "customs"

Again, Hot Toys wouldn't be able to sell them without the permission of Pacino. There is no doubt that many people would buy them but Pacino could probably care less.

I would guess its because when hes selling them there not licensed sculpts where if hot toys sell them they are.
