Our memory foam mattress got old, fast. It's nice and wasn't cheap, but it isn't as soft as we'd like. We're looking into a mattress topper and want the most comfy (like a cloud) one we can find. I have had a feather topper and it was fine when you first laid down, and then once it flattened, that was it.

So freaks, do you have any suggestions?

I got one of the memory foam ones myself. Got it at Wal Mart for around $200 for a queen-sized. That's about the only help I could give ya.

Now just wait for some of the off the wall comments about to come your way. Should be good.

I got one plus a memory foam pillow the other day. My neck and upper back were killing me and they have helped out immensely. Next thing I'm getting is an ergonomic desk chair because I start school in June and will be doing alot of work at my desk for hours on end.

The variety of threads I see here... :lol

I don't have a topper, but I have a Sealy pillowtop mattress that is uber comfy.

We paid close to $500 for our King Mem foam mattress. But it's not comfy enough to be a cloud. I heard good things about 'down' pillow toppers but have never slept on one myself. We really need to get something soon so we can stop being uncomfortable.

My topper is not cloud-like, that's for sure. The down toppers are fairly expensive themselves, but anything that isn't at least memory foam-like will wear out quickly. Unfortunately, buying something "cloud like" for a king bed is going to be expensive.

$500 for a mattress?? :horror

It must be nice being rich, or else I'm really poor :lol

King size are not cheap to begin with, but mattresses can easily get over 1k depending on what you want.

Wow really? Well that shows you how much I know about mattresses...I just can't imagine paying that much for a mattress...

It's a memory foam mattress and that alone pushes up the price. The regular spring mattresses are around 200 or so. But get the mem foam and your wallet slaps you, twice. Right in the face. :slap

You wanna be laid upon? :monkey1

Just wanted to update that the mattress topper we bought is like sleeping on a cloud. I don't even want to get out of bed!

Hey Girl! :wave

Let me know how it holds up, puhleeeze.

For the last 3 years I've had an actual down feather bed topper on my mattress. Yep- like a cloud and I love it immensely. :D
But it does need to be shaken out and fluffed up every so often as the feathers get kinda smashed down. That's not a problem at all but I'm starting to wonder if it's kinda breaking down. I'm planning on taking it to the local laundromat soon and putting it in one of those big dryers to see if that helps. Was wondering if how the down alternative was and how it lasts.

So far, the alternative is great. Well worth the money. We haven't had it long but it's extremely soft. For the money we paid and the $1 shipping, can't complain so far. I have read that a lot of people like to flip theirs when they change their sheets, etc. I will definitely keep you posted. :1-1:
