Comic Con 2009 Official Thread

With only a few day to go I think it's about time to start an official thread for Comic Con 2009 if that's cool with everyone.

Maybe Chris or Chicky could endorse this thread to keep all information pertaining to the big event here.

I am really looking forward to all the great information and products from Sideshow this year!!!

If you go to the Sideshow Comic Con page there are a few setup photo's from their flicker page, maybe a few teases will pop up there!

I look forward to chatting with everyone!

1. Correct. I've never even been asked for the ID though, but thats just me.

2. Sideshow or in general? Either way, the answer is yes. Sideshow does bring a few items to sell, but nothing great. And there are lots of vendors selling Sideshow and other products there too.

3. Not sure. Sideshow didn't carry the first MJ figure so its not likely they will carry this one. But Hot Toys is supposed to have a bigger presense there this year so they might have him at their own booth?

I can almost guarantee you can find a Stormtrooper there. Maybe not from Sideshow directly, but definately at least from one of the vendors. The vendors are usually on the sides and the top and bottom of the floor. The "main" booths take up the middle area. Just look around and you should be good.

Yep. Last few years they've been right next to eachother. Very ironic considering we all want Sideshow to make DC stuff and it would seem easy to say, go next door and see what they can do with your property! I'm going to try my best this year, being the DC mod and all, to get DC and start considering it.

And last year they had the HT TDK Batman and V1 Joker at the DCD booth so I'm pretty sure they will have the Watchmen and maybe even the DXs there.

HI guys!

Due to financial issues I won't be able to attend Comic-Con. It really sucks because my friend Len Simon will be selling his Spaznicks sculptures at the Sideshow booth and I painted the prototypes for him and I won't be able to see it.

Oh, well, I'm just happy SS is distributing his stuff and I just want all of you to have a great time and take a lot of photos and videos. I will be online everyday.....

This is the first time in 7 years I won't be going to SDCC and I'm going to miss it...

Of course, I'm not sure how my wife would feel if I skipped out on our couple's baby shower for our first-born (a girl!) back in our hometown in order to go to the show?!?!?

She'd probably never sleep with me again...or let me buy any collectibles either...

so many things wrong with this...first off, a couples shower? c'mon man...don't do that to your friends. as soon as i heard about this silly idea of dudes coming to a shower i let my wife know that i will not be a part of a couples shower in any way. showers are for girls...sorry bro.

second, this shower was planned for the weekend of SDCC, an event that you've been going to for 7 years straight? you have 40 weekends to choose from(well probably less than 20 anyways) and you ok'd SDCC weekend?

third, "let you" buy collectibles? we all know that the woman has the power of the poon over us, but she should never be able to halt our collecting abilities. you neen a serious mantervention...i'm grabbing you and taking you to the strib club and TRU...see you in 20.
