Hello all,

I was recently debating buying the master chief PF and decided against because it would look out of place on my shelf. I would have bought it if sideshow had announced a companion peice like an covenant elite or brute to go with it. It got me thinking, why does sideshow not make companion peices for their statues? For example, and immortal PF would have been amazing to go along with the Leonides PF. Sideshow should really do more companion statues to go along with their single peices. Thoughts.

I think they do. I mean, my latest Lara PF is going to look killer next to the upcoming Nathan Drake PF.

That's all I have to add...

If you are being real strict with your requirement for the companion pieces you may have better luck with another scale or Hot Toys. PF's are too expensive and the video game genre is already too niche to have secondary characters.

You may find that taking BuffyGirl's approach works really well. I think Commander Sheppard PF would pair nicely with Master Chief.

Yea, thats the key...niche market. You may think it would be worth it for them to make companion pieces for all statues but it's not to them. They have so many pieces in production and pre production that they deem far more lucrative and for them, that's all that matters. So, making companion pieces for video game characters just ain't gonna happen.

But video games are way bigger than comics in terms of exposure to the market! Geeks like myself would be all over a Zerg PF or Protoss PF or covenant elite PF! Plus it would help to sell the main staute I think. I am sure that an immortal PF to go with the leonides PF would have sold out quickly. That is just my thinking, but I know nothing of marketing statues. I just look at what kotobukiya does and it seems to me that when I buy one from a series I keep going until I have them all!

Not really not when you have massive movies like the Avengers & Batman based of comic's. Also comic themed PF's seem be SS most successful line.

But who's to say SS won't bring out another Halo PF because if it sell's quickly & well enough I'm sure they will.

yea, if its something that SS feels is a money maker, they will give it a shot. gamers does not equate more people buying those statues though. most of the people buying statues are the comic book fans in the last few decades. some of those fans are also gamers so that is why some select gaming characters sell well. working in the gaming industry, i can tell you as a fact that i am one of the only ones who collects SSC statues out of my immediate friends and coworkers so clearly not going to be the most profitable line from SSC's vantage point.
