I don't think I ever saw the last one, but I'm relieved to see that Chucky is still going to be a practical puppet! :rock

Second to last isn't from the movie. At least that's what they said on another forum.

I really hope they get away from the comedy side and go back to the creepy *** doll in the first 3 movies.

If I remember correctly, even those were funny.

I actually never thought Chucky would see the light of day again. But I am interested to see how they handle it now.

Last I heard that was their plan. To make a scary horror film and move away from the overly comedic aspects of that last two films.

So this is a a sequel to child's play 3? I thought they were planning on remaking the first film.

Don Mancini is working on that to, after this sequel... maybe if this one is successful? *shrugs*

This is one series that doesn't need a remake, the first film was perfection. :)

Ahh I see, I thought that's wha was planned but then was confused when I saw this. Guess people just want to cash in on a franchise every way possible, reboots, sequels, prequels, "re imagining" remake. God forbid anyone try to write an original idea. :lol

Bt yeah I agree, I love the first movie, and enjoyed the second one too. Really don't think it needs a re-whatever.

What I read was that he wanted to do this direct to DVD sequel,

And THEN make a reboot of the whole thing and start from new. So they were going to work on 2 movies right now.

That's what he said, but I don't know if they are still going to do the reboot or not.

Ahh, maybe that's what's happening then. Seems weird to make a sequel to stick in the middle of the current series of films while also planning on rebooting the whole franchise.

I dug the movie quite a bit. There are one or two scenes in the beginning that drag on a bit too long but the pacing was fine once Chucky started doing his thing.
The chili scene is the worst offender, if you can get through that, it's smooth sailing from then on.

The only other thing I didn't really care for was the ending that will not end (the movie goes on for another 5-10 minutes past its welcome).

I'm not sure what those of you hoping for a return to its "horror roots" are hoping for, it's still a movie about a serial killer in the body of a doll, the series has always been a bit silly. There is definitely none of the over the top silliness from Bride and Seed though, so... yea?

So like I said, I dug the movie a lot, but I will miss the silliness of Bride and Seed.

i have high hopes for this film. Bride of Chucky is very good, Seed of Chucky is an abomination!!!

They better get back to the horror roots!

You liked Bride but not Seed? They're both completely ridiculous. Which why they're my favorites. :lol Ad far as horror roots, its impossible for me to take Chucky serious at all. Even when they were "scary " they were hilarious.

The thing is Bride was a well done Ridiculous movie, it had great production value, it was styalized, edgy, tons of humor but the scary moments they hit very well. I like Bride and the Original the most, both so different but really well done.

Seed was just a goofy ridiculous movie, it was a parody of itself that i think true fans of the character didnt want IMO, Horrible story, horrible characters, i hate it.

Now i recently watched Curse of Chucky, it returns to its horror roots for the first hour, and i loved it! It was scary, i thought Fiona was great, it was like a fresh start, but then in the end it just became kind of what Seed was, over the top, As a fan of the franchise youll get it, i just didnt care for it.

Moving foward i would say Re-IMAGINE the films, keep Douriff and the character look but start over.
