I was interested in seeing a gallery dedicated to customs and alterations that didnt quite work out.

Have any of you customizers ever altered a figure and regretted it?

Have you ever had any turn out so bad they could not be fixed?

Any funny results?

Any unintended results that you ended up liking?

This is meant to be light hearted and not a stab at anyone in particular, just curious cause many of you do great work, I think it might be useful to those of us that are thinking of attempting this to learn from your mistakes.

A gallery could be fun, but I don't know how many people take pictures of
goofs. I don't think I have any (pics, not goofs). I've revisited some and been embarrassed at the first version in hindsight, but I liked the first version originally. The true screw ups I just try to fix.

To date, my most expensive potential mod is I pried the hairpiece off my Enterbay Luke. It was a ***** too. Definitely want to see it on Bespin Luke's clean sculpt. I don't think it's ruined either. I can glue it back on if it doesn't work, but that my most $$ "what am I doing here" moment.

Other things have been small: painting clothes a color I don't like and just getting new ones to do over, trimming boots too short, things like that. It's all a part of learning I guess. Price can add up fast if you aren't a quick study, but in the end, if you get your perfect figure for you....totally worth it.

And remember,

Loads of times!
I got dissatisfied with my Chancellor Palpatine repaint, so I tried to strip it, and really messed it up. Not sure if it's salvageable.
I also had a Padme head that kept getting sticky whenever I went to seal her paintwork. Women can be very difficult to get right, and re-re-repainting her was such a chore!

i threw out my SST Stormtrooper Commander after attempting to rescue him of all that blue...

Who is that one redneck with the really bad customs on you tube? The guy that sounds like he shills knives on QVC? His stuff is the best.

Does this qualify? It's fixable, but I did f-up. I was planning on putting in lenses but as I dremeled I realized it was going to be too much work. There is an easier way of doing the lenses, but now I have to fill in the socket with epoxy.
