DONE!!

That was alot of fun to paint.
This is the "Egg Morphing Brett" accessory that came with the Aoshima Alien figure.

The sculpt is based on a concept sculpt Giger did for the egg morphing scene in "Alien".
It was later changed to look more like Alien egg, which we now see on the Director's cut of the movie.

I decided to leave the tendrils off as I thought it would be too busy.
For the base I just used the original base it came with. It had a "melted burn hole" on it. So, I kinda jazzed that hole up with some Alien "stuff".

I've included some pics to show what it looked like before I sculpted the back half and a pic with a quarter for size reference.
The last one is a pic of Giger's original sculpt.

So what's the background on this egg-morph? Was it an idea that the alien captures humans, which then later morph into face-hugger eggs? Anyone care to fill me in? Thanks.

Same question here... not familiar with the idea.

And the work you did on it is fantastic! Very well painted and the added back fits perfecty :rock

Nice job, Sabres!

Yeah, Brett and Dallas were morphing into eggs. Remember, this is way before Aliens and the idea of a Queen came around.

You can see Brett is almost transformed into an egg in the restored deleted scene. It still creeps me out.

Dude, never realised that when i saw the scene.

Thats is one freakie way to continue the species, i guess once one egg is produced that would become a queen.

NO!

The lifecycle was never meant to have a Queen. That's something Cameron added.

The Alien, as originally portrayed in the first movie, is a life form with a VERY short life span. When Ripley encountered it in the shuttle, it had gone there to die. Had she not bothered it, it probably would have left her alone.

Anyway, the Alien captures and cocoons 1 person to become an egg and 1 person as a host for the resulting Facehugger. Brett was turning into the egg and Dallas was to be the host.

Ahh, after that explanation that scene makes much more sense with the alien lying in the crawl space. Never realized that about the ultra short lifespan, but with its accelerated growth that works well.

I do like the queen concept a bit better however.

Yeah, it was a brilliant and creepy idea. I always loved it.

And when I saw Aliens the first time, as much as the Queen was a great monster, I was aggravated that the original "cycle" was tossed aside. That was due to the fact that the deleted scene never made it into the original film. Too bad. It's such a gruesome way to die.

With such a short life span, they wouldnt be much of a threat. They would have all been dead already on LV426 when the USCM got there.

Again, you're confusing the original life cycle with what Cameron changed about it.
