Custom SSC Luke ,Hoth pilot.final additions.

hi, not sure if ive posted this before, forgive me if i have.
SSC recast Luke head, hand made jacket, boots, belt, flakvest, hasbro reworked helmet, scratch made chin strap/cup,scratch made goggles, bendy hands.
Cordless, EL lit saber, powersource is in his chest.I have made an 'arming cap' for him but still tweaking it, originally had a Ponda Baba hasbro jacket, but after the first fell to bits (orange flaked off) a second was made and same happened, went for a hand made item.

Looks as good to me as anything SSC or Medicom could turn out, better in fact with the light-up saber.

Great work as always, Hurricane!! Not sure what body you're using, but if it's Sideshow, you might consider replacing the hands with the sculpted gloves from a General Lee figure.

I'd like to know a little more about your painting process!

NICE! Best Luke Hoth Pilot I've seen.

One note: If you're using the Sideshow Luke body, maybe try a Dragon body as the boots and gloves look a little short relative to his body. And Mikey's idea for the gloves is good. I've been eyeing those Lee gloves myself for some customs.

thanx guys, where do i get the gloves? And he is using a dragon base body.im gonna lengthen the gaunlet part of the gloves, i agree, too short.

Dragon sells the gloves in hand sets. The only way to get the SS Lee gloves is to get SS Lee. I wish they'd do handsets....:monkey2

Where did you get the bendy hands? Those are awesome! So you can actually bend the fingers to your desire? Are there any disadvantages to this?

most bendy hands can't hold anything, despite the bendable fingers. they are best for using in a neutral pose when the figure is not holding anything.

and the occasional wire pokes thru the rubber finger.

thanx for the bad press! , actually i find the ones i use quite good, never hand 'wire poking thru issues', and they are quite capable for holding blasters etc....

I doubt they're feelings on bendy hands will hurt you much...

I'm sort of in the same camp. I love the super-detailed hands like Sideshows. When I want a different pose, I just pop on different hands.

Now he needs a "snow" base, some snow deco, and a bomb to throw into the 1/6 scale AT-AT you should make.....:D

okedokey, and wo gonna pay for the materials???? only jkg:rotfl , itd be a real challenge, years ago i trained as an aircraft structures fitter, so its not totally unrealistic, anyway ive lenghtened the gaunlets, added detail to the shoulder fastners on the flak vest, just gotta make a metal saber hilt......any ideas for snow for final shots? flour? icing sugar?

hi just added the final bits, shot shows the arming cap(?) or the cap thing the pilots wore under their helmets, made from stockings/rubber grommits and some sewing....lengthened the gauntlets, detailed up a hasbro hilt......

looks great! as for snow, i saw someone at OSW make a snow base using baby powder. it looked pretty good but a lil too powdery for snow. i think if he'd covered it w/ a few coats of gloss spray it might've looked more real.

Can anyone help, i thought id done him justice, but ive over looked the thermal detonator he takes the AT-AT out with...any idea what it looked like? reference maybe?????

You can make a good textured layer using acrylic gesso. Or you can just do the "glued sand" thing and repaint it.

I wish i could use photoshop or the like,Id love to add a hoth background to these, 'snow' is icing sugar
