Super Freak
Hey guys, its been quite some time since I posted on this forum. I had to take some time out from collecting to take care of other personal things in my life. But I'm still going with it, just not as much as I used to be.
Sooooo, last week my friends and I spend the night over in Hunnington Beach, CA with our good friend and fellow freak JEDSTER. As most of you know this dude's got a pretty impressive collection. But one piece that grabbed me in particular...the 18" NECA Predator. He's a super talented guy so he actually did a really good repaint. The figure looked too awesome to pass up so he sold it to me. So that was my first official purchase in the 1/4th scale world. Fast forward to this past weekend. My friends and I spent another night with the JEDSTER. During Saturday we went to a local toy swapmeet called Frank & Son Collectible Show to pick up some new toys. There I finally purchased something I have had my eye on for years, the NECA 18" Jason Voorhees from 2009's Friday The 13th. When I got home and had the chance to look it over, I found myself to not be very happy with their paintjob, especially standing next to my new Predator. So I gathered up some paint, a couple brushes and cotton balls, set up a place to start, and began.
So here's my first attempt at a repaint. I've added all the grunge, the detail, the sweatstains. I even added a bit of synthetic hair to replace the ugly plastic crap that was originally there. I'm in the process of designing a base for him, when I'm done I'll be updating this thread. So I hope you all like it. Be kind, it was my first time.
