William Shatners Toupee
Super Freak
Hey, it's my first new blog for 2010! Maybe my only one. I'll try to do more than one a year!
Alright, the community-wide ass kicking we got from Howes left me demoralized and not caring about the hobby for quite a while. Now in a new year I'm back on my horse again doing what little I can to contribute, which for me is trying to get 1:6 projects organized again.
After a lifetime of sitting and languishing I've got a great sculptor working on the SUPERNATURAL commission v.2 right now.
I've also been stirring the pot in the custom Doctor Who Sideshow Forums community with some friends there trying to get that area jump started with as many new projects as possible and ready to go.
Most people don't realize we have our own group/sub-forum on here. Go check it out HERE.
So many people down there are talented working on different things and offering them to the group. I've also been reaching out to people outside that group to get 1:6 things made for us and to encourage others to do the same.
There's a lot of things potentially happening there I haven't talked about because things take so long to get done and then sometimes don't happen. That's life. That's why I try to keep as many plates spinning as I can so that you never know when one will finish up.
Most of these plans, announced and not, seem to involve the Fourth Doctor era for the first half of this year to keep the theme going from Inked Daleks brilliant Fourth Doctor Mod.
Given a choice, I would want to selfishly make the next phase (the second half of the year?) be a Second Doctor push with trying to get a Jamie, Zoe, and maybe a Tobias Vaughn head made.
As always, time will either laugh at my plans or not.
Custom wise personally, as usual I am verrrrry slow. While waiting for some of those Doctor Who projects to develop I have been working on my 1:6 Aliens/Predator collection by painting up my Ada "Bishop" head I've had sitting around forever, gluing a repainted Hasbro Alien to the top of my display shelf to make it look like he's scaling the ceiling (sweeeet!), started re-working on my custom "Arctic" Predator (though in the year I've not worked on it someone else did one and theirs is way better).
I have been working on my long threatened 1:6 Ice Warrior project from Doctor Who. I want at least two myself and I know others would want one too (my custom Denys Fisher one was pretty nice), so I am making it with being a kit in mind, but I gotta tell you, it's pretty busy so I don't know if the average hobbiest who isn't used to putting things together would be able to do it.
Here's my mounted Alien
Me meeting the Tall Man from PHANTASM, Angus Scrimm (yes, I'm that handsome NATURALLY. That's 100% REAL!).
SORRY GIRLS, I'M TAKEN!
Humiliated I went and got a haircut right after I saw this photo.
And then for the heck of it, pictures for people who hate people (and other fun stuff).
