customizing from sideshow to hot toys help..

ok guys, im almost done with a custom, and ive swaped the sideshow body onto a hot toys, and ive managed to swap the head aswel, but the hands are a problem as you will know the sideshow hands have tiny holes in so will not fit the hot toys wrist pegs. whats the best way to make it fit or make it larger?? and i dnt have a dremel so can use that.

any help? thanks

I've actually "Frankensteined" arm fore posts (and feet) from one body to another, to make it work. Some sawing and gluing and sanding needed, but it is doable. Just measure and make sure you don't lose or gain too much length.
That is, if you have bodies handy to do that with. It is a sure fire answer though.
There may be other answers.

Have you tried boiling the hands and trying to fit it onto the HT wrist pegs? Just a thought. I was able to fit the SS feet of the Buck onto the Pro pegs and the pegs are bigger on the Pro if Im not mistaken.

the only trouble with sideshow hands is that there is no cup shape at the wrist like the HT hands, so you'll have the ball joint of the HT wrist and then the flat of the SS wrist together. ( does that make sense?)
but as said above boil the hands or hair dryer them until they are reaallly soft and then just push them onto the HT posts very carefully.

ok i tried heating the plastic sideshow hand up, and i jst cant get the ht wrist peg in.

Really? That's odd. I put my sideshow James bond hands right on the newer truetypes without any hot water or boiling at all, as mentioned they fit well but do not cup at the ball joint so look a bit awkward .

You must have the older style, larger wrist pegs. If that's the case, you'll have to drill out the hole in the Sideshow hands to make them a little bigger in order to fit. That, or get the newer style True Type pegs with the smaller plugs. Sideshow hands will just pop right onto those.

Why not use Hot Toys hands ? or are they sculpted in such away that HT hands arent suitable, or are the HT hands too big ?

Ive never done any buck upgrades, but Id love to know for future reference if anyone has an easy fix,

Les's frankenstein amputation is a fix but an extreme one as your damaging 2 bodies imho

Surely investing in a dremmel and then drilling out the hand would be a better solution

after taking alook at them and comparing to my other hot toys custom prison joker, i used different pegs so yes ithink ive got the wrong pegs. any1 know where i can get the smaller ht pegs?

this is where i am going wrong, wrong size pegs. thnks for the help guys, esp TheObsoleteMan for mentioning about having different pegs. i wasnt aware of 2 different types as i didnt look, so thanks for that!!

need to find 2 of the smaller pegs.
