OMG!!!! :( I've just finished watching an SDCC video where they destroyed a Maul PF to show the construction off, that is the most tragic thing I've ever seen, poor Darth :(

Those videos were really dumb. Do they think people are stupid?

good point CF....OMG did I just agree with CF.....need to go back on my meds. :)

pretty stupid though. a starving kid somewhere around the world would could have used a Darth Maul PF.

People are stupid. You should see some of the questions people ask me on my ebay auctions.

The questions people were asking in that video were stupid. The guy who asked about the heat melting the figure. I'm so glad I have no interest in going to these geek conventions.

Can anyone give a brief synopsis of what kind of questions were asked? My internet is acting up on me and I can't watch it.

I overheard Heath talking about doing this after the Freaks party, man you guys shoulda seen the look on Josh's (jlcmsu) face! :D

Seen the beginning of part 4 where they smashed it with a hammer in a clumsy way???
Useless waste and bad advertising if you ask me.

Watching this make me think their pieces have no value at all.

They could have made a poor kid so happy with that figure...

I thought these videos where very entertaining actually. You can tell that Heath Hammond is a very likeable person. It may hurt to see a perfectly good premium format figure destroyed, but it also shows, how well made and sturdy they are. Excellent quality, and probably worth every penny.

Hammond also hosted some other videos, showing the set up of 12" Asajj and 12" Legolas. Perhaps they should do these kind of videos more often. Some people requested help for setting up their LotR Polystone Sauron, and the premium format General Grievous in the past. SSC made a photo manual for those two, but a video for more complicated figures that are to come wouldn't be bad. I doubt that they have the time to do it though.

I don't know why this pisses everybody off. I have always wanted to destroy a figure and am envious of the people in Europe who get to destroy their damaged stuff instead of returning it.

If they wanted to destroy it they could have just sent it to p!tu, the kid cant take care of ****.

I don't know about a starving kid, but some collector who couln't score an exclusive with the manner in which the order process went down could have lucked out, but as has been suggested, hopefully it was a returned Maul, would have to be for paint apps though since the saber clearly worked before the hammer.

As for people being stupid, you get all ranges of people with these products and some are very minimally informed about such things, so as much as most of us would slap our heads at hearing certain questions, clearly some people don't know, and as a broad comment, it's nice of Sideshow to take the time to address concerns from the silliest to the most serious.
