I've finally purchased my 1st DC Direct 13" body and I hate the extreme tallness of it (I knew I would). Just curious as to what my choices of compatible bodies are.

It's the Dark Knight's Joker & right now he's towering over all my other figures.:banghead

Funny, I got one just to get that extra tall body for a custom. I will probably re-create my DC Joker on a smaller body, too.

The DC head will pop off easily with heat. It has a standard ball socket in it, but the socket is smaller than any recent Hot Toys neck ball. Replacement ball joints can be gotten through HobbyLink Japan, but you need to settle on a body you can open up, look at the entire ball connector, and pick that type from the HLJ website. Hot Toys has just come out with new TrueType blank bodies. I suggest starting there. The replacement ball joint parts are made by Yellow Submarine.

This is a project that's deep on my back-burner, but I'll post something when I finally get to it. You realize, die, that the clothes will need tailoring? :lol

Pls post pics of your kit-bash (when ready). I'm also interested to see how a DCD head from the 13-inch line fit onto a "regular" 12-inch body.

Well I'm not sure how bigger a DC head is compared to a Sideshow one. HT figures do have incredibly big shoulders, so maybe a larger head won't look too odd.

Thanks! I bloody hope not anyway!

I plan on putting Les' great modded DCD head onto a HT Joker.

Yeah, he just added the neck and some more hair. Looks just fine on a 12" body - not too large at all. If anything, it looks too small on the 13" DCD body.

I too plan on having it be an alternate Hot Toys head. :D

You think? :lol

This Joker can dunk on Kobe right now. His legs are soooooooo long. What is DC Direct thinking, seriously? I've already been checking around to see if somebody with decent sewing skills can alter the clothing for me. I may only end up using some of the parts anyways.

I would've loved to get one of Les' heads to paint up myself, but I noticed they were long gone & only offered as painted.

SWEET!! So relieved, because having Les' head on it was 'all part of the plaan'.

I got brave and tried it....

I had the opportunity to pick up another DC Direct Joker and decided to experiment with it. Having a Hot Toys Joker on the way, I decided to make a "Prisoner Joker". I popped the head off of the DC Direct figure and planted it on a True Type body I got recently. Pictures don't do it justice, but it fits really well. Certain pix make him look like his head is a bit too big, but in reality it looks perfect. I sculpted some more hair to try and make him look a little less slicked back and re-did the paint to make him look all roughed up. Now I can have a scene specific Joker without having to undress my Hot toys one when it arrives....

OMG that looks wonderful! It fits much better then I could have thought given the scale differences.

I've just gotta try that too at some point. :D

I still say it's the photos... Looks better in person. I should have tried some better perspectives....
