Hi. I've been considering grabbing a DC Direct 13" Jim Lee style Batman for customizing. Is it worth getting?

Thanks.
Eric

I think he meant this one.

which someone resembles jim lees batman

Thanks. Yes Ven, that is the one I'm refering to. I really like the Alex Ross one. Anyone one seen one for a "good" price?

Thanks again.
Eric

id rarther give elvis my money and get him to make me a killer version! ,lol

Although I'm no where near as good as my man Seb, I don't have $600 - $800 to spare. Besides, the only way to learn is to do it yourself. Seb's amazing work has inspired me to start weathering my figures, something I was afraid to do before.

One day I hope to own one of Seb's pieces of art, but for now, it' all me, with some help from the kind people on this and other forums.

i wouldnt bother with the DC figure. its 13" So slightly taller than 1/6
the articulation on the body is terrible, so if you do swap it out for a 1/6 body, the clothes, gloves etc wont fit.

heres what i do if you want a custom batman. find your own head get it painted and put on a body.
get suit with logo of tony, he has them for sale in his thread. find some dx09 boots and gloves and your good to go. weather suit etc if you want. well thats the route i went, but i have to to many bats in my collection.

my fav bat is the steampunk bat i got of elvis. the clothes he did for it is amazing. i just recently stripped it apart and put it on a new slightly bigger body, as the exisiting body all the joints were really loose. poses like a beauty now. also got the same head reworked with slightly longer ears and a new paint job looks fantastic.

I've held off on the DC Direct and plan to get stuff from Tony. I like the Jim Lee head that Erick Sosa did, but if I recall it was rather large. Does anyone know if it will work well with a HT Arnold body?

By the way, what are DX09 boots?

Eric

i got one of Eriks jim lee head. it should work well with the new Kaustik Plastik body. should be ok as well with the arnold body, but you need him looking buff.

DX09 boots are the batman boots from hot toys. you prob find some loose on ebay.

I have this fig and it should make a good base for a custom. As you know, the figs are a lot bigger than your average 1/6 fig. Im not sure if the suit would fit on a regular 12 inch body. you might have to customise the suit to make it smaller.

yes u will have to customise the suit to fit any other body as DC body is unique in shape and size

I can't agree with you more, do it yourself is the key. You'll learn the most out of it and fun while you are at it. Seb is a cool guy, he'll share lots of great technique if you ask him. I'll be more tham happy to help you out as well, let us know by email us at [email protected] for further detail.

After all, we are all major Batman fan. Would love to see more people have their dream comes true on their collectiable shelves
